mrtourette
They would go Download or Son as Reading wouldn't give them the headline they want. Edited July 28, 2011 by mrtourette

gazza_20
They won't play anywhere unless it's dark, R&L don't have the balls to give them a headline slot.
mrtourette
I disagree, neither fit the reading demographic really anymore. soundgarden have played but was a long time ago and didn't headline back then either. Tool, if they have actually played didn't get anywhere near headlining. so even back in what is consdiered reading best days it didn't happen so it won't now. gazza_20
What do you mean you disagree? We're both saying neither will headline.
mrtourette
I do agree with you, I meant they wouldn't have the balls to go against what they perceive to be their market or demographic and book a (semi)legendary alt-rock band to headline. Both could easily headline Download or Soni but don't fit in the R&L's demographic, although FR could still say 'f**k it' and book them. But they won't. lharris92
the official R&L twitter account has been bigging up Kasabian with regards to them being on the Zane Lowe show live... hope it isn't a clue of whats to come next year... linky

jump
The RHCP have swalowed their pride and are touring in Novemember since that horrible preformance, so it looks like they will be playing the fests next year after refusing to play in Europe this year. I just hope V gets them.

jump
well Kililive are promoting the november tour so from that i would assume that they are talking to soni to headline there...
mrtourette
Well they won't put off playing forever so I guess they'd want to build their reputation back up with their own gigs and releasing the record before they get back into festivals next Summer. Anything that suggests they'll be playing Soni is fantastic news. Edited July 29, 2011 by mrtourette
jump
Maybe they wil get greedy and decide to play staduim/out door shows next year and not play any fests at all, either that or Soni gets rid of the no clash rule on their outdoor stages. Seriously f**k being forced to watch them as there's nothing else on as I made that mistake before when they headlined Reading.
gazza_20
It does look like it and to be honest, the guy pn the Download firums confirmed they were playing Soni ages ago, well before the tour was even mentioned.
VCK
I feel a bit sorry for RHCP, it seems like there has been a bit of a dent in their career since they played R&L. Don't get me wrong, they were shocking, but I've not seen or heard of anything similar happening to Arctics or KOL who were also both crap when they headlined. VCK
Mainly because KOL & AM were no where near as bad as them and RHCP's last album was Stadium Arcaduim, the worst album they have made since being established and times have moved on and away from their sound. Vacant0
That would be great, although Tool would never sub and I doubt Soundgarden would either, they'd be more likely to go headline Download or Soni instead.
jazz565
I actually thought Arctics were worse than RHCP, worst headline set I've ever seen at a festival.
