harderfaster
I know Sum 41 have fizzled out but that seems really really low. Having said that, Taking Back Sunday must have played a similar slot a couple of times recently and I thought they'd warrant a slightly better one! rexclark
I could see Suede playing somewhere on the line upsince they only did the one UK fest this year, NME stage headliners or 2nd top perhaps? Perhaps I'm just being hopefull.
benc16
Im not sure thats relevant, less than jake are just as big in punk circles as mumford are in their circle. Thing is Mumfords circle is a lot bigger, sells a lot more record and gets a lot more airplay.
jump
This is true, however I was really trying to get at the fact that Avenged are one of the biggest metal bands around these days. Don't forget they had a US #1 album, toppling Eminem off the top and sold shows out within minutes both here and the US. VCK
What are the chances of Primal Scream? Last time they played, they headlined the tent and before then they played 4th on Main Stage (on the same day as Metallica, System Of A Down and Sum 41 ), but I think they've had a bit of a resurgence in popularity since then, especially with the hype surrounding the Screamadelica tour, so 3rd from top possibly? rexclark
They looked awful headlining Lattitude. Was disappointing as I grew up listening to them

VCK
Another good prediction, looks spot on but I've seen The Vaccines predicted so low, surely they'd be 4th/5th if they came back?

pink_triangle
I think Feeder are bigger than Ash. I'd bet you 9/10 R&L festival goers could name more Feeder songs than Ash songs. Ash headlined the NME in 2007 when they weren't particularly relevant... I'd say that last year's slot didn't really do Ash justice.
harderfaster
I personally think a-z was a gimick that failed and sent ashs popularity with anyone but hardcore fans soaring down.

Hart Attack
Oh, Foals don't do outside? Maybe Vaccines there instead then. I doubt Killers and Metallica would both headline the same year again though.

DJL
Only if Green Day played a greatest hits set, and nothing off the last 2 albums.

Yellow_Fellow
I doubt FR would look at it and think 'oh no, can't have those two headlining, we've done that before'
GRichards23
It wouldn't be a greatest hits set without American idiot, one of their last 2 albums and their first that went to number one (in the US)?
gazza_20
Whilst I agree that it's unlikely, I doubt FR would look at it and think 'oh no, can't have those two headlining, we've done that before' - if they can book 2 solid headliners that they think fit the bill then I reckon they'll go ahead and do it. Plus The Killers have (sort of) got the comeback factor which excuses them from most of the rules...
VCK
I'm pretty sure they would, because that would be a clear source of criticism.
gazza_20
Just like it would be if they booked The Strokes to headline with Pulp subbi - oh wait, hang on. Can't see them both playing next year myself, I think it would be: Metallica Elbow R.E.M.
