The reason they are being touted is because they've exhausted every other fest so they may offer themselves to R&L but that wouldn't mean they would automatically say yes. Phoenix fest is making a return next year and they will probably want to start strong and grab a name like Kasabian.

This is true, I'd be more than happy for Kasabian to not play over anyone else, I agree with the feeling though its the next time or won't happen most likely.

Andy is lunatic, what he say and he does are two different things and I can see him turn around if Soundgarden want to play fests next year.

In an interview a while back apparantly enough was said by AC to say that he hasn't managed to get them and Soni had them. Soni knew they for a fact weren't playing the UK at all this year.

Soni do like to chase the audience with their bookings but Blink are bigger SG & Tool even at a metal fest and they have never gotten a sub anywhere near as strong as that before.

I think people would take SG and Tool more given that they had chances to see Blink recently and arena dates too.

Rolling Stones/Kaisers was just a comparison was to show how inconsistent

they are.

I know, I was just adding my own personal thoguht to it.

Apparently the Lead Singer from Bloc Party is doing solo album an stuff so i very much doubt Bloc Party being at R&L.

Few Festival Guesses...

Reading and Leeds 2012 - Kasabian, Foo Fighters, Linkin Park

Download 2012 - Paramore, Rammstein, Metallica

Sonisphere 2012 - RHCP, Van Halen, Nickelback

IOW 2012 - Biffy Clyro, The Killers, The Prodigy (again)

Realistic, but can't see Noel clashing with Foos, nor Primal Scream with Kasabian. Swap A7X and BFMV round too.

Also, I can see Kasabian day being Friday, Bloc Party day being Saturday and Foos day being Sunday. Imagine the uproar on this forum if Bloc Party were booked as the legendary Reading Sunday headliner! :P

Lastly I'd switch Mumford & Sons with The Prodigy, I think The Prodigy would be better suited to subbing Kasabian than Bloc Party.

But good enough! :)

The lockup bands (save for the first 3 on each day) are in no particular order. I'm thinking maybe Noel plays 4th sunday but with an extended set (like Madness this year). Take Specials out and replace them with someone and switch Saturday and Sunday around on all stages.
