I don't doubt they might meet up - I just can't see with performing in Dr Dee, and DRC Music likely to make live appearances or perhaps a tour that Damon will have time. although I know he was in the frame for Artisitic Director throughout the Cultural Olympiad I can't remember if he got it, if he did I think that runs until 9th September - can't see Blur doing anything whilst that's on - though perhaps he'll give his band a slot there.

Theres also new Gorillaz stuff out next year isn't there? Febuary I think I heard an EP is coming.

Back to a couple of pages back, Slipknot being put in a sub headliner position, never going to happen. They're headliners now, they won't drop back down, next shows they do will be for the new album, they're a hot property, IF they get the new album done or close to they may even be in with a shout for this year R&L, can't believe they haven't been mentioned more. Whens the last time they did R&L even? I know I saw them in 2002 there.

I think the thing with Slipknot is that there's no definite plans for when the new album will be ready. Only info saying what it'll be like. I just don't think with Soni having them this year that it'll be the following year. Soni is a festival where is wasn't hard to get day tickets to see them.

I'd have said that Download will get them again before R&L. in 2013, it'll have been 4 years since last playing and a very solid booking to carry on where they leave off next year. I believe Biffy Clyro and Metallica will headline R&L in 13 and Slipknot won't surely headline same time as Metallica.

With Van Halen recordng a new album, it might be the year it actually happens and Slipknot and Van Halen is a great way to do it.

My thoughts anyway

I think i remember reading somewhere that Slipknot will be meeting in june/july to talk/record stuff for a new album which will be dedicated to Paul Gray. R.I.P.

Could R&L get them as an exclusive? The crucial thing is aswell, they have to get the right undercard, would SOAD sub? Maybe Limp Bizkit?

can't see it here though. 1st download 09, soni 11, to do r&l this year i can't see as for one when they've finished the album which there's only evidence of them saying what its even going to be about, it'll surely be toured in america 1st and two, it'll only be the following year for the uk, not enough gap imo. and by 13, if r&l didnt offer them headline, download probs would, only 4 years but with slipknot, get away with that.

Could still see Slipknot subbing SOAD this year tbh, wouldnt be at all surprised by

SOAD

Slipknot

Placebo

Blur

Bloc Party

Dizzee Rascal

Foo Fighters

Pixies

Mumford & Sons

would be a pretty strong set imo. Also Gorillaz would be awesome :P

I mean't offer it the following time didn't I. Every post of mine about them has been to headline the following year. No they didn't but it was a bit of a different set of gigs then. It was no more material, it was like a comeback, no one thought it would happen really and it did, a new album wasn't needed and they were signed upto a seperate tour. Why is my theory about gaps silly? every festival still needs a gap of certain time between bands.

imo, it'd be between dload and r&l in 13 maybe, whoever offers more, or which 1 they actually want to do.
