Question about Timing

OK, so this will be my first time at Reading Festival and since I've noticed that there are forums which refer to 'Beady Eye vs. MCR' or 'Strokes vs. Midnight Beast' etc. I was just wondering how the timings of headliners work. Will all of the headliners of each stage be playing simultaneously, meaning that people can only see one of the four each day?

Headliner of main stage is usually an hour and a half

Headliner of NME and Lockup is an hour

Headliner of FR is 45/50mins

I would expect Muse to be 2hrs, and I don't know how Strokes/Pulp will work, maybe 1hr 15 each?

Anyway, all headliners end at 11, so you could watch the first 30 minutes of MCR, then watch Beady Eye, but in general its best to just pick one, otherwise you will have a bad view for the second, and not see anything worthwhile at the first..

Last year: (Leeds)

Main Stage: Arcade Fire - 9.30

NME: Pendulum - 10

Festival Republic - 10.10

Saturday: (Leeds)

Excatley same as above

Main Stage: Blink - 9.30

NME: Klaxons - 10

Festival Republic 10.10

Sunday: (Leeds)

Pretty much the same again

apart from..

Main Stage: Guns 'N' Roses - 9

NME: LCD Soundsystem - 10

Festival Republic: 10.10

i'd just go by them times until the start of the festival.. i don't think they'll be much different, but i could be wrong with the Strokes & Pulp Co-Headlining.

so if you did want to see two headliers you'd have to see one, leave half way through to see the other one, which we did with Guns 'N' Roses and Alkaline Trio but both was amazing either way :)

Faith No More did get a longer set - I think it was billed as 1hr 15, but they played around 1hr 20. I don't know if we'll get the same with Jane's Addiction though.

As for 2ManyDJs I can't see them going on later than Muse purely due to curfews.

And Leeds does finish earlier than Reading.
