Reading Local
It's quite surreal that 6 of the acts who played in 2002 & had pretty big slots in the line-up have exactly the same in 2011 be it on different stages or in different slots - Muse - 2nd headliner to the foo fighters in 2002, headlining in 2011 The strokes/Pulp - co-headlining in 2002 but didn't swap, with The Strokes ending both days, same again in 2011 but swapping around at each site The offspring - 2nd headliner to the prodigy in 2002, 3rd from top on main stage in 2011 Janes addiction - 3rd from top on main stage in 2002, headlining the R1/NME Stage in 2011 The streets - headlining the dance tent in 2002, co-headlining or second headliner on the R1/NME Stage in 2011 Edited March 22, 2011 by Reading Local
Reading Local
Forgot about 2 many DJ's as well who played last after Feeder in the R1/NME tent in 2002 and are headlining or co-headlining the same stage in 2011

Poppington
I was at the Leeds leg that year, imo one of the best festival line-ups in years.
Belisha Beacon
Good spot. I thought the Friday main stage in 2002 was pretty underwhelming and it was grey and pissed it down. I wonder what slot the Dandy Warhols will get this year? Regardless of whether festival goers are coming back 9 years on or not, it does highlight one thing about the line-up well though - a lot of these bands are festival veterans and so it's not as fresh as it could be. Belisha Beacon
I'm not disputing you, but this says that Feeder headlined with 2 many DJ's playing earlier on (or at least it suggests it). Did they used to have a dance acts playing after the headliners in the tents then?
Reading Local
Feeder were down as the headline act on the poster, program etc for the stage but 2many DJs were billed as special guests on the poster and played after feeder did their set
she bangs the drums
I would pay £200 for this line up! My link Edited March 22, 2011 by she bangs the drums
fuzzylogic
I wish the Moldy Peaches, Electric Soft Parade and Polyphonic Spree were playing this year! And Mercury Rev too. Oh and of course Weezer, but we had them last year.
rexclark
2002 was my favourite festival line up of all time, it just suited my musical tastes to as tee and i doubt I'll ever see better. I wonder what slot the Dandy Warhols will get this year?
