Kowalski
It is superb isn't it? I thought it was a little selective - as far as I can recall the Prost Senna thing was no-way as one-way street from Prost / FIA towards Senna as the documentary showed, and he wasn't about playing the media game or as politically niave as it appeared. But that aside, the footage was amazing, the section on the Brazil race in 1991 brilliant and the death segment just shattering. Loads of blokes crying at the showing I saw it at. Makes this generation like like a load of whingers, frankly.
TheGayTent
I might end up looking a fool for saying this (won't be the first time) but I think Vetell will be found a bit this year. I wasn't impressed with him last year...

sifi
The director said it was cut out because the footage did not cross well to the big screen due to the poor quality of the footage. He said it was rainy, no one was there and it just looked drab and you couldn't really capture the sense of what was going on from small snippets of coverage. This was a problem with a lot of the coverage. A lot of time you are watching things develop over an hour with someone explaining what's going on... Not easy to put it into a "film"... TheGayTent
Still think that Donington drive was overrated. Ok, Senna started fourth and was leading by the 2nd lap. However, people forget that both Prost and Hill were very safety first drivers so it was no suprise to me to see him do it. Besides, the other Brazilian started 12th and was up to 4th by lap two and no one remembers Barrichello...

TheGayTent
He started forth, was down to fifth and then made it to first by the end of the first lap, and lapped everyone other than Hill by the end. It was a class drive. Over-rated? Possibly, given that it's so highly rated. Mind the Williams was so much better than the McLaren that year with it's customer Ford engines. My personal favourite memory was Herbert spinning it through 720 directly in front of me, and controlling it.
sifi
See that sounds very impressive, but to be fair some of that was due to luck with the weather and problems for others. Prost lost a lot of time when he had problems with the car in the pits, and Senna stopped at least twice less than Prost. His drive at Monaco in 84 was far more impressive IMO. TheGayTent
The Monaco drive was excellent, no doubt - and is covered extensively in the film.

Gre
Grr to my local cinemas not showing Senna until the 21st June, the evening before we leave for glasto at daft o'clock in the morning  In happier classic F1 news (one for sifi this perhaps), the BBC has put the full 30minute highlight show of the 1979 French Grand Prix on the website & red button. The classic Arnoux-Villeneuve battle that would never be allowed today. Yes we've all seen it before, but the show itself hasn't been shown again since the day. Kowalski
O/T but two ridiculous crashes in Le Mans today, both Audis. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2Nb0Ienv6k The first one was Allan McNish.
Gre
Blimey that tyre wall (first clip) is inadequate- cant believe they still let people stand there. (slight lol at the cameraman running from the tyre though )
OneLittleFish
Hamilton's been driving terribly this year. Got a fiver each way on Algesuari at 500/1 today - full wet set-up will help him bigtime and with the high possibility of many safety cars today there's every chance he might just sneak a podium. Kowalski
Holy shit. That's got to be one of the finest drives by a British driver in many years. Absolutely outstanding stuff. Well done Button!!!
