A geezer I know bumped into Jarvis on a night out a couple of weeks back, asked him about glastonbury and he said he is definatley playing. I'd be disappointed and surprised if they dont.

Loved the idea that The National could be the band to get the "push".

Maybe Pulp are a "surprise" - maybe on The Park - hence the denial by ME despite the apparent confirmation from Jarvis (although that is just hearsay).

The last point, re Pulp, is known technically as "clutching at straws"!

while I doubt he'd do his radio show from Glasto (they're mostly recorded anyway I think) there's a difference between Pulp playing and Jarvis being at Glastonbury.

nope. I'm far from certain that Underworld are playing - the info I had about them headlining the Other was retracted, after the source of my source said that he'd not said they were headlining. While that might be someone trying to cover up what they'd leaked, other stuff indicates that there might have been some genuine confusion about what was said.

I'm a regular listener and they're usually live, he always makes a point of saying when they're not. They haven't been so much lately due to him rehearsing, but he did a few live at festivals last year. And it was definitely from Glasto itself last year, I listened to it on the iPlayer when I got back.

But yeah it's different to Pulp playing and not nearly as exciting

What I mean is, he may have told the person above he's playing at Glasto because he's DJing there like last year. So he's not lying, he's just not playing with Pulp!

And bearing in mind he DJed at the Rabbit Hole and camps near the Park, some sort of surprise slot like Radiohead isn't completely out of the question.

OP probably heard it from a friend of a friend who told him it was from a great source. Surprised if Pulp don't play, seeing as Glastonbury isn't on next year and I doubt Pulp will know if they are still going to be playing together in 2 years time

Here's my conspiracy theory. Libertines are still there on the rumours page. That is despite Carl saying they have no gigs planned. Possibly Carl was being subtle... the 'no gigs planned' was because Glastonbury wasn't fully signed up yet. Neil knows this fact, and has therefore left them up there on the rumours page.

So, it's Libertines not Pulp!

Oh bollocks. Was very much counting on seeing Pulp at some point over the weekend, seems very odd. It's a long way away from when we were thinking we might have R.E.M, Arcade Fire, Libertines and Pulp all playing somewhere
