Guest blackcockerel
I tell you what, I may be a miserable f**ker, but there's no way you can say the headliners are shite bookings. No, they don't do it for me and I won't be at them but f**kign hell, U2 and Beyonce. can you imagine them playing any other festival? Can you imagine what other festivals would do to even get a f**kign sniff of them playing? and 'lack of imagination or ambition'? They're the biggest acts in the world that don't ever play festivals. How's that a lack of ambition? get to f**k!
russycarps
The stuff I have listened to is from an EP called "Be the One" that can be downloaded directly from Moby's own site: Moby It consists of three tracks: 1. "Be the One" 2. "Sevastopol" 3. "Victoria Lucas" They are all on youtube as well, obviously. I would say they are more dancey than chilled, but that is of course a matter of opinion. I will be seeing him in early June at the Roundhouse.
worthyraver
Cheers for that, I'll check it out. I'm going to see him at the roundhouse too - and I'm looking forward to it a lot more than I thought I would! I was really hoping he'd be doing one of those somerset house gigs, but sadly the line up is pretty crap this year. Air there last year was ace! (apart from a crap london crowd)
MyTwistedWords
Personally, I'm quite happy to know that the headliners are a bit sh!t, but hugely popular, as it means I won't feel any regret in missing them to enjoy a relatively quiet festival

Big Vern
one of my tutors at college claims he's the brother of the drummer from Shed Seven. i think it was Shed Seven anyway, it was definitely some Britpop tripe. it's a pretty poor claim to fame to make up. i'll ask him when i see him tomorrow. cartonio
I'd have liked to see The National back but given the very sweet deal they've struck with Festival Republic-headlining Latitude and 3rd Main Stage at Reading/Leeds-I'd say that includes exclusivity

Spliffman
Lack of ambition in the sense that they are simply arena band bookings, they are soulless bookings, a pop diva who plays for dictators and U2 who have been a joke for years. Glastonbury festival of contemporary arts is losing both the contemporary part and the art part. I can't think of safer more middle of the road collection of headliners they could of possibly booked, its turning the pyramid stager into f**king henman hill. Complete lack of artistic imagination or ambition to capture the Zeitgeist, its as if Jeremy Clarkson is doing the bookings. They made a claim a few year ago they wanted more young people to come to glasto well this line up appeals to middle aged men and women and people and will keep the glasto crowd getting older and older. f**ks sake I'm miserable. redmosquito
Look. Don't get me wrong, Pablo is being way too neg and annoying (fun police). But, his basic point is surely right. For average music fans like myself and the people I'm going with, we have a US RnB/pop star who has (i would guess) very little following outside the teen girl demographic, a huge global band who lost all attractiveness about a decade ago, and a British band which has headlined before, done very little since it last headlined, isn't cool, and seems to have fallen behind bands it was previously ahead of. I mean in the likes of Arcade Fire and Elbow you have bands with a proven record of making good records who are at the top of their game. I'm amazed one of these two weren't put in a headline slot. Then, instead of Coldplay, you have a bunch of bands who have stayed stronger in the hearts of the punter (Pulp, Strokes etc) or even the likes of Daft Punk, Pearl Jam, Dr Dre who could have brought something new to the party...
