bitching would insinuate that i'm angry and crying about people not liking the lineup...obviously to you that's how you see it, which isn't you're fault it's just how you think. What i was doing was just belittling you and those whose posts 90% of the time just complain, complain, complain that their favourite bands weren't on the list. Then subsequently showing you that you're arguments are contradictions of your original point.

In laymans terms…

Once again…you just don't read things through…you get a few lines in, your little mind gets all rared up, toys rocketing out of your pram…

I merely implied that those that have been running this years lineup into the ground because they didn't get what they wanted, writing off the whole event despite the fact there are bands in there which by definition f*cking rock, but just because people have seen them in the past it's just not good enough anymore. Fair enough getting p*ssed off at an announcement is one thing but slagging off the entire lineup is just pathetic, so I made the point of "I'd like to see you do better".

Oh and the 1980's called, they want their insult back :D

Thanks B, to be honest I'm not overly fussed what people think of the lineup, me and my mates are looking forward to it..finally got all our flights and hotels booked for before and after the festival. I only posted this purely because each time someone moaned about the lineup being terrible and that every band on there was disappointing nobody really challenged them…it was a perfect opportunity to get people's backs up…I love a good argument :D

Line 'em up an knock 'em down! :P

I'm doing DL and Soni. Cus that's how I roll! ;)

Arguing the same point over and over can get tiresome, I'd rather use my time discussing fun things like "who can I recruit to carry my bags all the way to the campsite" and "how much paint does one need to make a flag?" Important questions, you know!? :P

Wow must be the summer heat that's causing all of these premature responses

It's amazing how many people don't take the time to read the post and the points made before they post their response, effectively rendering their posts irrelevant.

For your ease of reference, and for any future individuals who are offended by my initial post let me bullet point the key factors here..in fact I'll make it easier and number them.

1. I never said you couldn't have an opinion

2. I merely said I find it pathetic how people constantly b*tch about bands playing at download again

3. I find it also pathetic how just because some people's band choices aren't on the lineup they see fit to slag off the entire festival

4. Using the argument "Everyone is entitled to an opinion" is useless here as this is my opinion and am therefore entitled to it

5. If I've offended you, I don't care, deal with it, start a post about it if it makes you happy, you can call it the "Why aren't my favourite bands playing and why is Tang so mean" topic

:D

the lineup is nowhere near the quality that AC led us all to believe it would be. its not shit - its quite varied - but the fact remains Def Lep shouldnt be returning only 2 years after the last time, and the darkness are shite.

I bought my RIP ticket based upon AC's enthusiasm and hype (read bullshit) about 2011.

I feel I am entitled to moan about those 2 bands. and I know we are still going to have a f**kin great time.

I believe we were told that at least one of the headliners had never played Download before, and that there would be a monster sub headliner. We got three repeats, one from just two years ago, and The Darkness - a band that no one had been expecting to re-form, if you asked people what band would you like to reform to play Download, no one would have said them, a band who fizzled out to empty arenas and flop second album, a band who tried to play a song they hadn't even finished writing due to the lack of material they had to fill out a headlining set at Reading, a band who's singer is so hated he was bottled of stage in a support slot by usually placid Alter Bridge fans - ironically the band playing before them at Download, a band who are by no stretch of the imagination a "monster sub-headliner"

That's why people are complaining

I can agree with you there, then again as I said before he never guaranteed any specific bands..and I'm pretty happy with seeing the likes of Rob Zombie, Alice Coper, Down, Disturbed, Buckcherry etc. a few of the top spots I would rather see other bands there however it's purely because I either don't like the band or have little interest in seeing them again, I'd think to a newcomer to download this would be a pretty damn good lineup for them if they haven't seen any of the bands previously…

As for Def Leppard, yes something different would have been nice however I will still go to watch them, they're an old band now and I doubt they have many more years left in them so I'll see them while I have the chance. As for the Darkness, never seen them live, I liked a couple of their songs when I was younger so will probably go to see them, I don't think they're shite, they just aren't for everyone, if I get bored I'll jump across to Korn, never minded how many times I've seen them.

There's moaning, then there's b*tching and putting the entire festival down because a few people threw their toys out the pram as they didn't get to see what they hoped for.

The atmosphere at the festivals is brilliant, although the best live show I've ever been to was watching Murderdolls live at the Relentless Garage in London the night before Ozzfest…those few hours were intense!!
