ha ha.he doesn't help himself does he?

you can imagine his tweets now--

- 2012 headliners will blow you away, sonisphere will never top it

- maverick promises headliner to shock the world of music

- maverick so excited about incredable band lined up for 2012 headliner, demand for tickets will be huge.

er............................it's the darkness.

- maverick cant believe people are reacting badly to the headliners, don't they know theres not enough bands going around at the mo,they were the only available band.

ha ha

i couldnt be arsed to read all this, so only read the first couple of posts, but i agree with the OP.

I feel like saying dont go and stop crying about it and go somewhere that you will enjoy the music. METALZ fans are so shallow minded its unreal, i dont particulary like the line up, and thats only because i realise that ive seen everything i need to see in the metal department, therefore it would take a line up of epic proportions for me to love the line up.

People don't seem to realise that the festival isnt catered personally to them. I think Linkin Park closing the festival is a poor choice, from a tradiionalist standpoint. But i can see why they are, they sell tickets. For every 20 something fat hairy metal head whining online about the lack of "real metal" there is an equal, if not more youngsters hyped about seeing thier favourite band.

People grow and things change get over it

Amen to that!

Everyone seems to be bigging up Soni yet they have the likes of biffy clyro playing?! I've got a mate who's pro Soni and i've always been pro DL and this year we've had the whole who's got the better lineup banter..we're into out metal but when it comes down to it.

There's only a few bands on soni which we considered to be "have to watch" bands such as Metallica, Slayer, Anthrax, Opeth, Slipknot. Download has SOAD who although have been poor live in previous years are going to be making sure they put on a good show especially if they're headlining, Rob Zombie who has confirmed DL will be his biggest performance, Alice Cooper who was incredible to watch 2 years ago, Disturbed who are brilliant live, Down who never fail to impress, Korn who have still got it (Ozzfest was by far one of their best shows last year, they hit every note spectacularly), Def Leppard who regardless on when they last played, they are still a crackin band to watch, Thin Lizzy who are legends, Twisted Sister who I've always wanted to see since I was a nipper growing up to that music. He's had to go and get tickets for Hellfest (which I add has THE best lineup this year if you're a pure metalhead) just to see the likes of down, disturbed, zombie etc.

Like Matticus said Download is catered to for everyone, has been for a few years now, Soni is the same, you want a pure metal festival quit whining and goto the likes of Hellfest

biffy will blow the balls off of soni, they are f**king brilliant live, and I am glad they have been given the break they deserve. It only seems like yesterday I stood and watched them in a venue the size of your average front room. they have got to where they are from pure hard graft. leave the "pure metal" attitude at the gate and give them a chance. they will be great. I really wish I was going, just to see them pull off that headline slot.

I concur. First time I saw them was supporting InMe in January 2003, they were f*cking awful that night, but they've come a long way since then. Really looking forward to Weezer followed by Biffy at Soni (assuming the tickets don't sell out before I can afford one!)

Biffy Clyro is one of the better bookings at this years festivals. If bands like Biffy wern't given the chance to step up then we'd be having this " repeat bookings!" arguement tenfold in a few years time, as every band would have toured to death and headlined every other year. time for the new blood to cut their teeth.

Biffy are one of the best Live bands around. They are IMO the best booking sonisphere will make this summer, after this appearance they are only going to go on to bigger and better things. I'd love to be the to see it, still thinking about getting a day ticket for the Biff(not to mention Weezer after their Leeds performace last year). They are one of the hardest working bands around and they tour constantly with people still wanting to see them.

The newer stuff may be more mainstream and push them towards a bigger audience but they haven't lost any of that edge or emotion. There recent B-side album Lonely Revolutions is one of my most played albums. Personally I don't think they have made a bad album.

It's good to see bands like Biffy stepping up to headline size.

Not going to soni so will be hard to hear, to be fair they will get a crowd regardless as they won't clash with anything and there's nothing else to listen to...i'd be the same regardless of how much i didn't like a band i'd hang around purely for the sake of being there. I had to wait through HIM last year, i cannot stand HIM i think they're a steaming pile but the following band i wanted to see so i stuck around gradually pushing my way to the front.

spwan...that's what i initially tried explaining, it's not like AC had every band at his mercy and could pick and choose as he liked. I don't see why people can't understand that.

I'm pro me me! I go where I want. If I don't like something, I don't waste time and money on it. What is it with the psyche of people that they feel they have to take sides? It seems to me that the people that are bitching bought their tickets before they knew who was playing. Unlucky. Whingeing won't get your cash back it'll just make you feel more miserable.

I don't know most of the bands listed and even if it pisses down all weekend I'm gonna have a great time. Festivals aren't just about the band names you have scribbled on your pencil cases.

Tang makes some good points albeit in a trolly kind of manner. What he does need to do however, is learn the difference between your and you're!:rolleyes:

the 'trolly' manner seems to be the only way to get through to some people..

hmm damn which post did i mess up your and you're

punctuation and grammatical correctness aside, this lineup, regardless of whether bands have played before, is a damn good lineup in my opinion
