Just saw this on BBC: Feeding kids meat is child abuse - fight the fat - go veg

Never been a big fan of PETA, but have a bit of respect for the work they do for animal rights I suppose (I like chinchillas). Things like this make me lose that respect for them, what an unbelievably stupid advert.

I like the explanation of it here, which tries to suggest that tackling the problem of child obesity is the main issue behind the poster, before switching to the real issue - saving chickens.

Hilarious! And I can actually understand why people might find it offensive. I just find it a bit annoying and desperate.

PETA are an extremely good organisation for people interested in living an alternative life style. They supply excellent information on valuable resources, for those fed up of being swamped by mass produced, animal-orientated products. I couldn't find gluten flour anywhere because supermarkets gladly peddle the idea that it's bad for you. PETA pointed me in the right direction.

As for the political campaigns they undergo, some are well designed and some are stupid. The good ones are generally information-based aimed at those already considering the idea (ever rising %, by the way) or well placed critiques of the meat industry's bullshit. However, there's those that are over-zealous, vitriolic stabs at f**k knows what, proving only to undermine the organisation.

what i meant is that theres two sides, and usually both extreme's are flawed.

I have lived most my life as a veggie and i have no problem whatsoever with people eating meat. Freedom of choice.
