Not given it much thought yet- I'd like REM but still hope they're on the other stage on Sunday. playing the park would be totally unworkable for them anyway.

Could see Noel Gallagher up there maybe or what about Beady Eye? Quite good on Jools H I thought.

I'd like to see what the other three members of Radiohead could muster- Phil selway could be joined by ed and colin. What do we think?!

As to previous park special guests, I said I thought thom yorke would play on these boards (although jonny was a bonus!) and knew about Biffy before I set off for glasto.

I'll be angry if it's Pulp. Stupid idea. You have a band who 16 years ago put on a gig of a lifetime on your mainstage... So you bring them back and stick them on a tiny stage as a special guest so very few people will see it. Pointless. If you're going to book a big band... book them. Leave Special Guests for bands that couldn't easily be booked for other decent slots.

The Friday guest does seem huge, to be up against such big names on the other stages. Don't forget that when the Klaxons were the over-hyped ("one of the biggest acts in the world") Saturday park guest a couple of years ago they were panicking that the crowd could be too large. I even seem to remember they slightly twisted the stage so it pointed up to Flagtopia incase 177,000 turned up.

Jack White popped up to the Park with Last Shadow Pups the year before the Dead Weather appeared, he obviously liked it and returned in 2009. I can think of many others. This year, during the Thom York set, I popped to the Park Backstage bar for a swift one and was greeted by a very tall, hairy looking Jarvis Cocker. He seemed to have no interest in the band and more in chatting and drinking. Also the year before that he appeared unannounced at the Park with Shlomo. I'm guessing Jarvis maybe likes this particular area and vibe of the Festival.

Pulp?? Could it be?
