not a chance...

They are playing on the 22th on Germany and then on 26th in Luxemburg.They simply can't move their equipment from Germany to UK and then back to Luxemburg for the other fest...its a pity,i know...i am a huge fan myself

I'm sure it will be the killers in some shape or form, whether it be brandon flowers solo, killers acoustic or even the killers. I just think with them playing hyde park on the friday, it's very easy for them to get to glasto in time for the sat special guest slot, and with them having been on hiatus, i think hyde park + a special guest slot would be seen as a v good way to ease themselves back into playing together again. they love glasto and the organisers love them so they're def who my money's on. As for the friday, my money's on Pulp or Jarvis solo, as the fact that they have hinted a slot at glasto, over the last few months would suggest to me that they're lined up to do something over the weekend. Otherwise why would they bother saying anything?

I know that a lot of people on here reckon that expecting bands as big as this is unrealistic, but if you look back over the last few years the special guests seem to be getting bigger and bigger. The fact that thom and jonny got to play last year says a lot too, as I personally cannot think of a band that the glasto faithful like more than radiohead, so if they were allowed a slot, i wouldn't rule anyone out. Add this to the fact that the acts booked at the same time as the special guests this year will do v well in assuring that the whole of glasto wont be heading to the special guests (biffy, jimmy cliff, fleet foxes, carl cox, coral to name a few), I think we can expect some quite big acts playing this year.

She was fantastic. Im a big fan anyway but it was muddy in the morning and it cleared up and the sun was baking the mud hard ( :unsure: ) during her set. Remember taking off the wellies and sitting on the ground for it. When all the people on stilts walked in amongst the seated crowd during Me & Armini, (shame theres no video of that!?) it was a real Glasto moment. Just perfect.

In fact, I just love the Park, full stop. it's a great area.... and some of the bands there are bloody brilliant. 2010, left after faithless to head up to the stonebridge for (half of) UNKLE, and caught the last few songs of empire of the sun who were f*ckin awesome

It might sound daft but they're on site, the slot would be about the perfect length and there must be thousands of us who are gutted that we're going to miss them on the Friday but we just can't resist the lure of seeing U2 who would love to see it after all but by, sort of, chance rather than expectation. Plus there would be absolutely no need to announce it at all as it wouldn't be news that they were on site, etc.

Anyone think there's any chance at all?

they tweeted a while back about doing the festie circuit this summer, included in the tweet was a link to a Glasto performance. they haven't appeared on the lineup yet.

I cannot lie.....this would make me v.v.happy

I have no rampant speculation to add to this thread, but have taken an interest since I'll be checking out BAD prior to the friday night special guests and will stick around to see if it is anything interesting. I've yet to even check out a single band at the park, but hung around in the area later in the evening a couple of nights last year and it is a great area, will surely be hanging around there for a drink or 9 again this year.
