Renewing our wedding vows at Glastonbury

Hello all,

It will be our 1st wedding anniversary on June 26th and I thought it might be a nice idea if we renewed our vows (the wife loves stuff like that!).

Is there anywhere we could do something like that at Glastonbury? We've been a few times and I can't recall anything but I'm sure there's some veterans on here who could give a definitve answer!

awwww, congratulations! It's our wedding anniversary on the 25th June and so we've celebrated the last few at Glastonbury, which was lovely, and have the Saturday night there this year.

There is handfasting and similar available, and loads of places where you can go with a beautiful view, to do this yourselves, with or without friends.

We celebrated last year with seats at the Rocket Lounge restaurant, which was amazing - that would really go down well if you fancied something special, although it's not cheap, but it'll be booked up incredibly quickly so you'll need to be quick.

Happy anniversary for the 26th though - what a special way to celebrate it.

Just to say it is ours on the 24th June, we married in the falllow year of 2006. Well we had to do something with there being no festival!!

As its our 5th anniversary I will be watching this thread for ideas too!

Not quite over the festival weekend but we are celebrating our 6th anniversary on 10th June

I'm usually away from my wife on ours (27th) as she doesn't come to glasto

this year i will get bsck for it;

as for renewing vows;

Yes, i believe something happens in the greenfields, as two years ago a couple in our group had a ceremony

There was a 'church' at lost vagueness which did comedy weddings alas no more (we watched ex big brother torrettes sufferer "pete" get hitched)

theres always the sunday sevice with the biggles wartime band vicar! perhaps catch them at avalon/bandstand

My friends got 'married' in the Lost Vaguness church a few years ago but it was the last year they were doing it, I think your best bet it to try getting in touch with somewhere in the Greenfields for some kind of handfasting ceremony

As far as I can remember there was a display stand/tent all about handfasting just off the healing fields in a little cut through walkway. As you go into the healing fields to the middle bit where the element area is (earth, water chill area) with that in front of you it was to the left of there
