I guess it depends on whether you judge the line-up based on your tastes or the tastes of the masses.

I'd say the Pyramid Stage overall is wretched, but that's because I wouldn't watch any of it. Applied to the Glasto crowd however it's probably a good line-up as it gives people the chance to say that they've seen some legends, wave their flags and try and get on the telly without having to pay much attention to the music. The Other Stage and JP stage on the other hand are really good, could easily stand up as a mid-level festival on their own as the top two stages.

I find this opinion quite odd. I'm not a fan of any of the headliners at Glasto this year but I don't see how you can call them poor. Subjectively I would say it has three of the biggest acts on the planet headlining. Two of which don't play festivals which is a major coup especially since Glasto won't be paying silly money for them.

Glasto 2013 is going to be an incredible year. Have the acts who didn't play last year or this year, fallow year so another year of acts to accrue and then anything new and upcoming in 2013. This year I actually like the Reading lineup, so much diversity across the weekend, one poor headliner and sub headliner doesn't fail a festival. The Saturday Strokes, Pulp, National, Madness etc is a great lineup.

1. Glastonbury - Love U2/Coldplay and on the Beyonce day QOTSA are on the second stage (although i imagine beyonce would put on a good show)

2. TITP - Strong headliners and strong undercard, although it doesn't have the variety that Glastonbury has, but I dont think anywhere does really.

3. Bestival - Like the looks of whats been announced so far.

4. R+L - think its poor compared to titp, but if you just look at it on its own, I think it's a good line up.

5. Isle of Wight - The undercard is awful, but they have some good, big headliners.

6. V festival - I think there is a lot of crap at V, but there are also a fair few acts that stand out for me. (OCS, rihanna, eminem, cast, manics, primal scream etc.)

Think it all depends on the genre of the festival and how good they could be but if I had to choose which one i'd rather go to.

1. TITP - Have like 7 headlining size bands playing as well as a load of great acts.

2. R/L - Pulled the short straw compared to how good it could be, but there are still some amazing exclusive performances.

3. Sonisphere - As far as the rock festivals go it couldn't get much better, all great headliners, the big 4 & countless great rock acts.

4. Glasto - It's Glastonbury of course it's going to be amazing, countless amounts of acts playing, overall pretty good line up.

5. V - as far as V goes, i think it's the best line up they've had in a while.

6. Download - You can tell that AC has struggled this year, Def Leppard headlining again, Linkin Park again, only real pull is SOAD reunion, still managed to get a few decent acts though

Personally I would say the best line ups this summer are

Bestival - Innovative bookings and lot of acts with huge cult following

Titp - Very strong headliners and sub headliners, also good undercard acts, such as primal scream, manics, Weezer, Leftfield, eels. However too much commercial crap such as bruno mars and the script

Glasto - Overall a very strong and Diverse line up

R and L have a great line up as well apart from the day MCR/30 seconds are headlining playing

Glastonbury has to take it in my opinion, some amazing bands on lower stages, alot of choice and I suppose you'd never find yourself bored there.

T in the Park is getting alot of love here but everyone I've spoke to who's going isn't excited whatsoever about some of the great bands like Weezer, Pendulum and The Strokes. Most are more interested in the Foos and Arctic Monkeys. I saw AM once and thought they were average, Foos I'm seeing in Milton Keynes so TITP loses points there for me, a band who are headlining elsewhere and have huge outdoor venue shows planned.

Download, I honestly don't know why people think this is a good line-up. Linkin Park is a repeat booking, but for what it's worth, I'm going to Download, and I'll DEFINITELY go to see LP, just one of those bands I need to see before I die. SOAD and Avenged Sevenfold will be awesome, but the undercard is very average, alot of irrelevant bands there. It's more nostalgia there than anything. And Def Leppard is such a lazy, lazy booking.

R+L, going to this one obviously again. Muse is going to be truely epic, forget what people say about their most recent tour being full of "new crap", we know they're going back to OoS, and it's going to be an incredible show. I'm not interested whatsoever in Elbow so I'll need to see what else is on at the time, maybe The Streets and return for Muse. Interpol should be good, and Enter Shikari were very good in the NME tent last year. I'm in the tiny minority that loves the Saturday at Leeds. MCR were awesome when I took my sister to see them, and supported by the Blackout who are also on the main stage that day, can't wait to see them again. 30STM were good live, pretty average but I've watched them play festivals before and they certainly kick it up a notch. Jared can't hide in the crowds doing acoustic sets at Leeds. An underrated booking has to be The Offspring. They will be absolutely insane. And I'm a huge Rise Against fan so I can't wait for them either. Strokes and such are going to be good to see, Pulp, it's their last show ever apparently? JEW and Madness will be good. It's a GOOD lineup, I've rambled but it's better than people give it credit for.

The winner for me is Sonisphere in the UK though. Big 4 might not appeal to people on these boards but that is a huge booking. Saturday is interesting with Biffy headlining, I think they'll put on a great show, and they've got a strong support in Weezer. And getting Slipknot is absolutely amazing after what happened to Paul Gray.

I'm going to Leeds and Download this year, I've slated them abit before but I'm thoroughly excited for both of them.

I'd be very surprised if it's their last UK gig ever, unless they f**king hate eachother and can on last long enough to get the summer festivals done. I'm pretty sure this isn't the case so I could defiantely see them doing an arena tour in the winter.

firstly, give me your source otherwise i'm calling utter bullshit.

secondly, that's great, but i was just saying that it's not their last ever show, and most people who even care about pulp have looked on their website and seen that.

i quote pulp:

how from that you can definitively say it's their last UK show ever i'd very much like to know.

Right cracks knuckles

V has two great headliners for the V goer, neither have played V before, and Eminem rarely plays in England, so he's a massive draw, If you like the acts that are playing they've done good with the undercard too, they haven't put who's playing where yet, but with Primal Scream, Rihanna, Lostprophets, Manics, Kaiser Chiefs, Dizzee Rascal, Duran Duran, Plan B, Pendulum and Razorlight they've got some strong acts in their undercard

Glasto for me, the Pyramid stage is weak, big headliners but poor undercard, and of course thats my opinion, they have shit loads of stages but everything is so spread out across those stages, things end up getting weak on each stage, and again, thats just my opinion

Reading, MCR day is great, but the other days just don't do it for me, Interpol are a great booking but I worry they will get lost on a big stage. Second Stage is absolute balls again IMO.

TITP as usual has a great mixed bag, standard TITP strong line up. Again though I can't see where acts are places much like V, so can't comment as much.

IOW- big headliners, and thats its. As usual.

The one that im surprised no-one has mentioned and for me it has an AMAZING line up, is Hop Farm

No money from sponsors or advertising and not a very expensive festival but yet they've still managed to book

Morrissey, The Eagles, Lou Reed, 10CC, Bryan Ferry, Human League, Iggy and The Stooges, Ocean Colour Scene, Brandon Flowers, The Walkmen, Death Cab For Cutie, Graham Coxon, Guillemots, Carl Barat, Gang of Four, Manu Chao, Noisettes, Patti Smith and a shit load more

Hands down its the winner for me, shame I can't go!

Alright mate calm down! Why are you getting so angry. Hahaha. Sort it out. Zane Lowe would have been told to say that, you idiot. I just it is their last UK show ever. What's wrong with that? It might be wrong and they might announce more shows, but you don't have to cry about it.
