emmaking
Never ever been to a festival so a couple of questions. I want to be near-ish to the pyramid stage when camping as thats where my main performers will be... so.... I will be arriving by coach on thursday. What gate(s) do they arrive at? (if known) I don't expect to live right next to the stage but a decent walk will be fine so what field would be best to camp in? What gate will lead me best to the pyramid stage/camping field? I expect to get very lost at some point during the weekend, but aslong as i can get there ok, get set up fine and not be on the outter limits of camping then i'll be happy. london_ajay
Hi, people who get the coach arrive at gate a, check out the map below. You can try pitching anywhere there's space as thursday will have limited space available. Getting lost at glasto is part of the experience as you may stumble across wonderful experiences! There will always be signs and security to help you find your way back Hope you enjoy your first glastonbury festival!

Aragorn
Kidney Mead is a friendly camping area that is far enough from the pyramid to not be blown away with noise but near enough for a 10 minute walk. You can see the stage thourhg the trees depending where you camp aswell.
emmaking
I'm going on my own. so its just me and my 2 man tent. I've seen a few pics of the campsites. not much room is there lol. i'll be getting there about midday on thurs.
ukslim
With a 2 man tent, you should be able to find a decent spot. Also, it seems likely you'll be lightly enough laden to wander around a bit and find somewhere good. So don't settle for the first adequate sized patch you find. Especially, avoid being right next to a path, particularly if it's going to be muddy. I've seen tents become part of the path! Ask campsite stewards where there's space. It's their job to know. If you don't get a straight answer, ask the next lot.
jameshunt
You should camp near the south west corner of Pennard Hill Ground. That way you won't have far to walk for the virgin sacrifice ceremony in the Stone Circle.
clarkete
If you're on your tod and coming from a coach make sure you're comfortable carrying your gear, so you'll be happy if you have to carry it through a couple of fields. You'll often see folks overladen with crates of booze or too many chairs. But if you're packed well I'm sure you'll be zooming past them
emmaking
i intend to take the bare minimum. enough to keep me clean, dry, warm and cool. I'm so fricking excited :-D I'm making a list of things i think i should need. then nearer the time try and cut it all down as best i can. Sad i know but i dont want to forget anything essential. clarkete
Nothing sad about that, one of the cornerstones of this community are the lists of essentials
emmaking
i thought about a) putting initials on my tent with gaffer tape, and take a photo of significant places around my tent on my phone so for atleast the first couple of days i can familiarise myself with where abouts im staying. GlastoBill
Michael's Mead is a good spot for Pyramid and I think you would be able to find a spot for a 2 man tent on Thursday. Great views of the site from up there.
