Yep just recieved the paperwork today stating that they have gone in to administration, there is also a form to fill in and send back where you can state how much you are owed etc.

Looks liek im going to have to do it this way as I paid on my visa debit, i phoned the bank the other day and they said they could have opened a dispute but it had to be within 120 days of me paying myhab.

I booked back in october so my 120 days are up so glad this form arrived today.

I got the notice this morning too... What bothers me (and I'm no financial expert so please correct me)...

What happens to the hundreds of thousands of pounds that they took from us all if they go into administration?

James whatsisface... What a chopper. :-(

I'm not even remotely close to being any kind of expert either ... but as said above, mere customers are always waaaaayyyy down the list of peeps expecting to see some do$h coming their way from the Liquidator I'm afraid. I wouldn't be expecting to see anything much at all :(

Claiming against a Credit Card Co (and some Debit Cards in certain circumstances) is most likely the only way you're ever going to see a reasonably straightforward and satisfactory resolution I would say.

For anyone who didn't pay by credit card or their bank is refusing to accept a claim on a Debit Card transaction and/or there is some other problems with getting a full refund immediately - then you really do need to get yourselves some professional advice to establish if there is anything you can realistically do to improve your chances of seeing the do$h returned by one means or another. If there are a number of peeps who only have the option of waiting for the Liquidators to deal with things then it might be worth you all getting together and taking some form of action as a group rather than just a bunch of individuals. However, getting professional advice has gotta be the first step because I rather suspect that the chances are there's not going to be much you can realistically do other than just wait and see what happens eventually.

Good luck and please remember to pass on an appropriate amount from any refunds received so that the Festival (and it's good causes) don't lose out by quite as much as they probably have done so far :) Perhaps someone could contact the Festival Office to find out the best way of achieving this and then post the details here ?

PS: Regarding the private address posted earlier - please do be careful *AND* entirely reasonable if you choose to use this address for correspondence etc. It is one of several addresses that I turned up when doing a bit of poking around when Myhab first started looking a tad dodgy back in October last year. However, there is no hard evidence that I could see to confirm that this is in fact the home address or whatever of James Maurice Hamilton Dunlop and I would suggest that it's most likely to be his parents or another relatives address. He may live there. He may not. Also, just in case it doesn't go without saying - personal visits are NOT a good idea for no end of very good reasons apart from potentially achieving nothing other than getting you into trouble with the law !

Hey hey heeeey...

I'm just coming from the camp where we didnt have glamping in the past and we coped quite well enough before such things were invented. Spending out on a tent that is no different from one you bring yourself on site (and quite often a lot smaller) but shell out the cost of a foreign holiday to stay in just doesnt make sense to me personally.

The Myhabs I saw at T in the Park last year were teeny and I know I would be loathe to parting with a feckton of money to live miles from site at the G, up a Hill of Death worse than the one at Gate C and pay to do this.

Leave out of this, I never mentioned it for starters thank you very much. <_< It's not precious to me, its convenient, my friends live there, its central on site and doesnt cost me a penny! I even got to go home with a brand new tent too.

AND...did I say at any point 'it serves you right'? Get off your high horses guys. What I said was without prejudice, sarcasm or hate towards any of the people affected by whatever the sheisters that own Myhab did. It just is not a risk I would ever put myself in and I made as statement referring to this. At least with camping within the festival's own boundaries in your own tent you KNOW you dont have to pay anything extra or put your weekend at risk paying for someone else to put your tent up for you or if there will even be one on site when you get there.

The use of the word 'slum' is a generic, tongue in cheek description as you well know.

It is a luxury that people can afford and good on them if they choose to part with money for a tent they cant take home with them but dont have a go at someone who just thinks that doing is is a bit silly. That is all.

The only benefit if anything (to the fest) is at least Tangerine Fields/Myhab/whoever takes the tents home with them to their base at the end of the fest.

As someone who doesnt have the luxury of a well paid job and a thus dont have a throw away attitude to money, I will forever remain someone who just doesnt 'get' why people choose this risky option. I apologise if people miscontrued my opinions.

Been going to Glasto since early 90s and taken the 'glamping' option for the last 2 years - not for any perceived luxury (couldn't care less) but for the simple reason we cannot arrive before Thursday lunchtime and no pitches are left! 2009 arrived at 1pm and traipsed for 2 hours around Pennard Hill and eventually had to unpeg others to pitch a 2-man tent on our own. Every year since the mega fence everyone arriveds earlier and earlier (good for them - if only) - forget group pitching after Wednesday. Now with kids (at grandparents - is it wrong to still enjoy one crazy weekend a year?) we have little choice. Believe me I would rather be in the thick of it and spare the cash. Sure through the benefit of middle age, we have the 'luxury' of well paid jobs as do our like minded friends so we can pay extra and camp together and enjoy a fantastic festival.

For those that have plenty to say about 'glamping' well all I can say is lots of people have many reasons for taking this option. The beauty of Glastonbury has always been a non judgmental friendly crowd all there to have a great time. Youngsters may have a view but at least we are there and not at home watching Casualty.

Okay, not entirely sober so can't say whether this is a good idea or not, but will post anyway.:lol:

Why don't a large group of people that paid for myhab get together and form a group to make your case stronger. Perhaps e-mail Glastonbury to make a case too; about how much they lost because they provided an alternative (which was lovely of them to do!

In addition to that, some of you could 'pledge' some/all of your compensation to Glastonbury charities to hopefully make your case stronger?

I hear these kinds of statements (no space after Wednesday) a lot and they annoy me a bit. Mainly because it's pretty much bollocks.

There is usually plenty of space left, and yes even for people who have large/multiple tents. It just might not be precisely where you want. In 2009 you couldn't find a space in Pennards? Maybe that's because you had chosen to head for one of the busiest/most popular fields on site. If you'd headed a couple of fields further west then you could have found more than enough space with relative ease.

The Festival is usually pretty good about pointing people towards fields where there's more space - Most Campsite Stewards have a map showing what's full and what isn't. But for whatever reason, they often get ignored and instead more and more people try to shoehorn themselves into Pennards, Kidney Mead, etc while fields on the Western Edge of the site have plenty of room.

This isn't a comment on the sheltered campsites, I've no problem with them, halve the prices and I might even be tempted.

Agree I'm clearly selecting the popular places!!

By west do you mean top of railway track south of other stage or John peel direction? Really interested in this.

Must admit wouldn't want to be out by John Peel as spend all time near green fields, Park, SE section and very little time at Pyramid and rarely JP or Dance Village.

People are arriving earlier though - friends with kids were there in the Wednesday queue and couldn't pitch in family field - people were outside on Tuesday!

It seems to change a bit from year to year but compared to Pennards etc pretty much all the fields along the Western Edge of the site end up with much more free space and enough room to set up a camp even on the Friday.

From what I've heared, this year the field directly West of the (out of bounds) Dairy Unit had plenty of space all the way through the Festival, and there was a reasonable amount of space within spitting distance of both PGA and PGD.

Obviously those fields are much, much further from the "heart" of the Festival, but I'd still prefer that to something outside the fence.
