is there a church/sunday service ?

we are going for the 5th time this year and we have never seen a church...does anyone know if there is one ?

we are bringing a friend who HAS to go to church every Sunday...so she has asked me to find out if there is one...

now i've heard of people getting married there...but is there a Sunday service she can go to ?

i've looked on the website, but i can't see anything.

Yes, there's a tent up by the farm, I am sure they do a service.

for directions just ask for the Avalon fm radio caravan - the church tent is directly opposite across the road from it.I've been going since 1993 (the festival not the church) and it is always there.

I have been to services at the church up by the farm a few times, I think they were by the local Anglican Church but very welcoming to all denominations. I don't know if the Iona Community hold services but may find out this year.

They do a mass wedding in the green fields which is on sundays and you sign up for it before hand. I got married to my best friend and you all sing to Beatles songs and jump over a broom, it's lovely

I saw a couple get married at night in a full sized boxing ring within a tent one year at Glasto. Or at least there is some data in my head telling me this is so.

you've never been able to get legally married at Glastonbury - as you cannot get married either outside or in a non permanent structure non licenced structure. You can however get blessed. There was a chapel in Lost Vaguness years ago - but thats made way for SL.

I don't suppose you recall if there was a boxing ring within said chapel do you? The chapel is ringing bells in my memory. Can you recall if it was a blow up chapel? Any info appreciated. I'm trying to fill in the gaps!

No I definitely remember it being more solid than an inflatable one. That was a long long time ago thinking back

My girlfriend & I were breaking camp, when an old guy asked us what one of our flags were (my OH is from Bognor Regis - it was the West Sussex flag) We told him & asked him where he was from. "Here" he replied. "I'm the vicar of Pilton & I reckon I'm blessed with the best parish in the world. We couldn't have agreed with him more. Lovely fella.

I think it was a marquee but their was a facade across the front built out of scaffolding corrugated iron and plywood. At one poin I'm pretty sure there was an inflatable pub in the area so maybe you're thinking of that
