French Festival Recommendations

Guest leftfootleashed

Me and my friend are festival veterans in the UK, but want to try a European festival this year. We'd quite like to find a good festival in France. Does anyone have any recommendations? Something laid-back would be good, preferably a smaller festival - think Green Man, End of the Road, etc. The smaller the better really.

Cheers!

Dave :-)

may Paléo Festival wouldn't be too bad for you. good line up, very chilled, fine food, beautiful location etc.

it's in switzerland near france. but it's hard to get tickets, is sold out, but tickets you can always find. festival runs 5 days

very nice small chilled and cheap festival with a history is open air st.gallen. not in france though, but near zurich... much smaller than eurockeennes, mainsquare, pukkelpop, werchter etc.

with more people from uk every year...

If you want something along the line of Green Man or The End Of The Road in Europe don't listen to all the previous posts please there rubish:

-Most of the festivals in France are rock mainstream festivals like Eurockeen or Rock En Seine, not at all like Green Man or End Of The Road !

-Festivals like Melt in Germany and Dour in Belgium are bigger and have a more varied line ups but it's still not what you're looking for.

-There's a really good festival in the south of France close to St Tropez called Midi Festival it's unknown and small but it's got loads of new and upcoming bands before anybody else.

-The Best thing in France is La Route Du Rock if you're looking for a Green Man or an End Of The Road

-I would have to say that the Haldern Pop Festival in Germany is the best thing you'll get if you're looking for a Europeen Green Man or End Of The Road

1. Haldern Pop Festival (Germany)

2. La Route Du Rock (France)

3. Midi Festival (France)

And if you're up to Scandinavia theres always Oya Fetival, Flow Festival or Way Out West Festival. But there more like Primavera Sound Festival (Spain) and thats in a week !
