Iron Maiden Secret Set Friday

1st off I wanna say I'm not expecting this to happen but been chatting to someone who is most of the time in the know about who's playing festivals way before being annouced due to the line of work they are in. Was told off this person that Iron Maiden are playing an early Secret set on the Friday this year. I know it's very highly unlikely but wanted to see if anyone else has heard of this too and if it was to happen where the he'll would they play?

How accurate has this source been in the past? What have they told you in the past that has turned out to be true?

Edit asked him, and looked at tour dates, theyre only free on friday, cant see this happening

He replied to me, he didnt rule it out, I said, heard iron maiden are playing secret set at download, that would be amazing, and he repied, yep, would be amazing

I'm not one to jump on ridiculous rumours of secret slots but maybe they could do 30 mins and announce they're headlining next year? Not sure...

I remember Downs secret set in 2006, that was good fun. Ive never seen anyone so wrecked so early in the morning, well done Anselmo.

I think if it IS happening this, it's gunna be a small set and will be all new material and maybe one classic to end on

If they've sold as few tickets as has been rumoured, I doubt they could afford an un-advertised Maiden appearance.

so there could be room for a set after The Darkness depending on set times.

Probably because they don't have a load of material, when they headlined R&L they did an hour instead of the usual 1 hour & 30 mins and even that was streching it.

When they headlined Reading and Leeds they played an hour and a half.

No. They really didn't. They played through the majority of their set in about 45 minutes, then started f**king about with unfinished material, and piss poor banter, before finishing around the hour mark. Their set was supposed to be an hour and a half, which might be where you're getting confused

I'm with Lith on this one - I stayed for all the hits (so until ...thing called love) and it was well short of an hour.

If they'd played for 90min, why would they have a reputation for such a short set?

Next you'll be saying GnR were punctual!

I was there. It was certainly no longer than 1hour 10mins. They blitzed through the first 3/4 of the set without stopping, then realised they would be finished too early and started f**king about.
