Motorhome advice

Hi there

First time in a motorhome this year, and whilst I'm hoping the weather will be like last year, many years of experience have taught me to prepare for the worst! So, with this in mind can anyone give me any advice if there's anything I can buy / do to the motorhome to prevent it from getting stuck in the mud or to help get it out if it does get stuck, I was thinking some sort of matting under the wheels etc..... Or is it simply wait for a tractor!

Thanks in advance

Sarah

I've had the motorhome for 5 years now (only 2 at Glastonbury) and although many people will advocate the use of matting, planks etc I have never bothered. If I get stuck I get stuck and will just sit back and wait for a tow. I will say though in 2009 I left at 6am after the thunderstorm and the roads were very slippy, I can imagine that later on when the rest of the field left it would of been a bit of a challenge.

Thanks all - really helpful info. Of course, however, I've got to get the beast there first - never driven anything larger than a car before, so it is a bit of a concern! Hey ho - nothing like a extra Glasto adventure!
