megmog
I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the buses that run to and from Castle Cary station particularly on the Monday after the festival. I hear that there are queues and that the buses may be delayed by local traffic. Has anyone got the bus to Glastonbury before and if so how long do you think we would have to leave the site in order to catch our train at 10.30? I'm wondering if it's worth buying advanced train tickets that can only be used at a certain time or if it we'd be better off getting an open one just in case we miss the first train?! LostRiot
Don't buy an advance ticket, its impossible to predict how long it will take, some years its been a 10 minute queue and a swift journey and others it takes hours. Also, you don't want to be tied down to a specific leaving time, just introduces a potential for stress. Also, 'shuttle bus' is overselling it a bit, most of them are old double deckers or 1970s coaches that can barely make it up the hills! Good way to get to the festival though, if not a little long winded to return, just make sure you've got something to make the queuing more enjoyable.
