BLACKSTROBE !

Just got the Rockness app on my phone and almost pissed my pants when I saw Blackstrobe are listed as playing the Rock N'Roll Circus arena.

But....they have not been announced yet and have not appeared on any of the flyers or adverts I've seen. I f*cking love this band....nice filthy electro...and they will be one of the highlights for me if they do play.

I'm also worried it's just a bit of a mix up because Ivan Smagghe used to be in Blackstrobe - and he is also down for this arena.

Can anyone in the know pleeeeease confirm this either way for me?

I think it is just Ivan Smagghe...it does say in the brochure Black Strobe underneath him but I doubt they are reforming for Rockness, surely there would have been more on it if they were?

That would be a crazy serious typing error if it wasn't.

The festival would lose a lot of rep if that was the case.

They don't need to reform - they were still going strong after Smagghe left ( i've seen them 3 times since he went solo )

If they are playing they have shot to the top of my 'must see' list - and I recommend going to see them. They're awesome live!!

Just hoping Jim King or someone else in authority can confirm it and clear any doubt....cos their name has not appeared on any posters etc.

For what it's worth, not only are they listed in the Rockness app, they also have a bio page, which reads:-

"What connects Norwegian black metal, French club anthems and London super-producer Paul Epworth? These see,omg;y irreconcilable points on the musical compass are linked by French dance rock four-piece Black Strobe."

From what I understand, the organisers themselves were responsible for providing the bio text, so if they're not playing someone has made one helluva cock up!
