Yuck - Who Do They Sound Like?

Great band but everyone has someone that they sound just like. I've heard all the above options mentioned but there may be others!

They reminded me of Sonic Youth a little bit when I saw them play but I hate telling people about new bands and you go "they sound just like <insert band name here>!"

Yeah I know, but Yuck seem to one of those band that everyone who has heard them thinks they sound just like someone else. Not in a bad way though.

Apparently they sound like a band called 'The History of Apple Pie', according to the Guardian. Or maybe they sound like Yuck, I forget which way round it was.

They have elements of a lot fo the bands stated above. Doesn't matter though. Incredible band. I'm so excited to see them this summer

I'd say Dinosaur Jr but it's an amalgamation of a good few bands. Can't wait for them at Leeds.

Saw em at glasto - they have some very laid back, mellow songs which can be a good and bad thing live. Generally not the liveliest band to emerge but they have the odd gem or two which go down well.

Totally underwhelming. Biggest letdown of the weekend when I went to see them in Glastonbury. Not a bad band but certainly don't live up to the recent hype.

Oh, and the drummers hair had more stage presence than the rest of them put together!

A very average version of all of the above pretty much. Get away is a great tune, but the album as a whole is disappointing i felt. I voted Pavement, as that was the first band that came to mind when i first listened to them. They remind me of Girls too.

I must be the only person who hears Ash in them then. Theres similarities in their album with Ash's 'Nu-Clear Sounds' era I think. Great stuff anyway.

Really enjoyed this band at Leeds, one of the highlights, by the looks of things; no-shows by Odd Future and Jane's Addiction meant they had a longer set for us northern boys, which was only a good thing. They were the only chilled band I saw in a tent really, it was a great change of pace, it pained me to miss most of Seasick Steve for them but I don't regret my decision. What did you all make of them?

I like the album but was a bit disappointed by them at Reading, I lost interest to be honest. I did bump into their drummer wandering around by the main stage bar a couple of hours afterwards, which made up for it slightly.
