Hi,

I'll be getting the train to Bristol Temple Meads and won't be arriving until 8:10pm on the Thurs (would go earlier but this is the day I finish my A level exams in the afternoon!) Was wondering, at this time, how easy will it be to get an available taxi to take me to the festival and what will be the approximate price? Thanks!

And whilst the traffic's not likely to be too bad, there is a bit of a spike in the numbers of people arriving after finishing work on friday so you could get stuck in a queue with the taxi meter running - ouch. Best, as another poster has said, get the train to castle cary instead.

I live about half way between Temple Meads and Glastonbury. The taxi fare home on a saturday night is normally thirty quid and that's getting dropped off on the A37 and walking the last few hundred yards.

So based on that, I reckon fifty quid plus.

Try calling Yellow Cabs, I'm sure they'll give you a price over the phone http://www.yellowcabsbristol.co.uk/

I agree with pompeygreg that Castle Cary is your best bet. But you have just two options: catch the 20:23 changing at Westbury and get to Castle Cary just after 9:30, or the 20:49 going direct arriving at 22:06.

There will be taxis at the station to take you to the site.

Having worked in a hotel in Shepton I can tell you that a taxi from Temple Meads should cost you about £35. Book a firm based in shepton/glastonbury for the best price, they will also know the back roads and the best place to drop you. You could also try and cut costs by getting a bus to a closer town like glasto or wells before hopping in a taxi. Might save you £10 in total, depends how tight funds are. To be honest I think train to Castle Cary and then shuttle bus is the best option as previous posters have said.
