Official attendance figures

Anyone know if there's anywhere where the official attendance is announced? Be interesting to see what it was this year.

They must have sold a lot of day tickets? as the camping was far more spread out this year, we had more space this year than ever.

I'd be really surprised if there was 75k there this year. I thought around 60-65k.

I wouldn't like to put a number on it but it was certainly less crowded, I liked it, last year was a bit packed

BTW On Sunday I was 2nd stage and watched a vast exodus away from the main stage towards the exit, prob after Disturbed. Was this just the rain or what ?

I can't say how it compared to last year, But when I last went in 06, the arena was bigger and it was much more cramped.

I only went for the saturday and didn't arrive 'till about 4, and wasn't in a queue for anything.

I'd have thought it'd have been less then 70k

Andy did an interview for the lowdown podcast around Friday evening and he said they just broke the 70K Mark Friday morning.

I would say about 55-60k.........

The main arena was a lot smaller than last year and didnt seem that full. I remember walking around at the back on the friday and 20 mins before Def Leppard there must have been 15k in the main arena tops..... Quite a few people had day tickets for Saturday, but again Sunday looked quite empty. Compared to previous years I'd say attendance was on par with 03 and 08 which was around 50k.

Either way the numbers were down from last year, but it was a relativley healthy number for pretty poor headline acts.

The Festival scene for rockers n metalheads has gone from famine to feast to over saturation..........people just dont have the money/time to do them all. So its a case of picking and choosing, be interesting to see how Knebworth and High Voltage do.

Next year is the Tenth Download (what a crap name) so I think it will be a big deal on who is headlining.
