Car rental at Bristol Airport and driving to Glastonbury

Hi, I'm travelling over from Dublin on wednesday morning and renting a car at Bristol airport with my friends. I'm just wondering what is the best route to the car parks, preferably west car park to access Park Home (is this the best car park for this side of the site with access through pedestrian gate D?). Also are there any large department stores/off license on the way which we can easily access on this route? Google maps is a little inconclusive.

I know it is pot luck on how long it will take but any estimates welcome! This day next week hopefully we'll be almost set up...

Thanks in advance.

It shouldn't take more than an hour to drive, but that's not allowing for festival traffic! Could take a lot longer if you're arriving at a busy time. Not sure about the best route for the west carparks i'm afraid - maybe someone else on here could help. Failing that - satnav using west car parks postcode should sort you out.

Shops-wise, there's a fairly large Tescos in Shepton Mallet (couple of miles away from the festival site), or you could venture in to Bristol. If you're coming in from the airport, nearest large supermarkets in Bristol are probably the Sainsburys near Ashton Gate Stadium and the Asda in Bedminster.

Thanks Bexx for getting back to me. Anyone else have an idea of a route from Bristol airport that will pass a shop with an offy? I'd like to avoid Shepton Mallet as I would say it would be mobbed that close to the festival. So any other suggestions? The excitement is building...

I have done this the past few years and this year again. It's best to come out of the airport, turn left on the roundabout and go into the sainsburys in Bristol, bout 10 mins from the airport. After that head back out the A38 going by the airport, take the turn that will bring you through cheddar/wedmore/meare and into Glastonbury picking up the A361. This is where you hit traffic, it's my first time going on wedensday morning so I'm expecting to be stuck on the A361 for hours, it's a pain In the ass but worth it when you get in
