Bad food and drink

Don't buy a hexi stove, you're more likely to heat water using the force.

Man a jedi would be useful at reading.

Get a bbq/ fire if you really think it's worth all that hassle for a disgusting cup of noodles, personally I'd stick on some bacon or sausages if I had a bbq on the go though.

Getting back to the point of the threa the quality of my eating declines as the festival goes on:

Thursday - big barBQ with laods of burgers and sausages

Friday - Bacon (freezze it beforehand so it lasts a couple of days) some muck from a tin and takeaway dinner

Sat, Sun - super noodles, crisps cereal bars

lots and lots of jumbo spring rolls from the stand to the right of the main stage - bargin food of the festival at £2 a pop :D

followed by huge feed at the first mcdonalds we get to on Monday morning.

Agree with the bananas comment though just get ones that are still slightly green so they last the weekend

Nah see I find they use half a pack to do anything, gas was so much better, pity people had to ruin things. Now they're banning people from having any heat source on the sunday night.

Not to fussed about paying for a cup of coffee I just wish it wasn't horrifically bad coffee, seems to be the cheapest instant known to man mixed with mud and sewage from the long drops.

If you're going for solid fuel you can always make a spirit burner out of a couple of old beer cans, I've heard they're quite good and won't cost you an absolute fortune in hexi tablets.

Methylated spirits still count as solid fuel.

I find taking food takes up too much space & be quite heavy. But as the food stalls at Reading are the worst & most expensive I've come across (& being able to get a lift) I generally take a load of Go-Ahead bars, bananas which always get squashed & baked beans (always Heinz).

If you don't mind festival toilets I'd definitely recommend a curry night it's become a tradition of ours and it's always nice to have something that resembles food from a can

Don't know if this applies to Reading, but at Leeds last there were a few stalls selling giant Yorkshire puddings + fillings. These were widely abandoned throughout the site. The area in front of the main stage was like a giant Yorkshire pudding grave yard.

As for good food - the sweet n sour noddles from the noddle van with the black and red logo (forget what it's called) are excellent.

Somebody remind of their horendous price...for just 1 slice? Although that is pretty much all I lived off last year.

Although deff won't be eating the fish this year from the fish and chip van. Felt sick all night thinking I had food poisoning and in the morning looked at the fish I had thrown and it was all black. Lucky it wasnt food poisoning but that cod was f**king rank.

Also breakfast in weatherspoons. That's the one.
