With how bad the hip hop day sold last year, I wouldn’t be surprised if they stop trying it. I’m not sure why it’s not worked well, maybe just those names aren’t big enough. I bet they cost a bomb compared to the hardcore acts.    Suicideboys / Ghostemane would go down well, and sell better than the acts they have booked in the last years. 

The ‘phonics were always slagged off for leaden dad rock , and it was probably fair, but they were absolutely massive for a couple of years. Sort of followed on from Travis. 

As for Stereophonics, it's a pre-Dakota slot too - by some margin their most festival-friendly tune when you look back now. 

Timberlake is one of those acts who I think is nailed on to do this in like 10 years time

Fascinating. His schedule doesn't seem to be absolutely slammed, but that's in no way a dismissal of those reasons - he does appear to be relentlessly active across multiple departments.
