manda
Never been to Reading before, but been to numerous other festivals. We have accomodation just outside Reading, we don't live that far away so will probably come after work friday- is there a shuttle bus from the station to the site and how much roughly is it? Do they not sell weekend tickets without camping? Do they send out wristbands like IOW do or do you exchange once there? I don't yet have tickets- but likely to get some on ebay but just wanted to check a few things first! Thanks guys.
mrtourette
There are shuttle buses from the station to the site and it costs £1. Never used them though so don't know how busy they are. It's only about 15 mins walk though if you don't fancy it. The only weekend tickets you get are with camping, even the ones specifically sold to local residents come with camping. You exchange your ticket for a wristband once you get there, the first time that you go into they'll redirect you to the wristband area then you carry on in. Vacant0
You should walk rather than take a shuttle bus - its only a 15 minute walk and you won't be carrying any camping gear - just plain lazy not to walk.
Mega Ross
After work on friday? Man, you're gonna miss so much unless you work earlies. No tickets without camping, although I highly recommend you camp, it's part of the fun meeting new people and having a laugh with them. Even if you're maybe older or looking for a quieter festival, white camp could suit you well. You exchange a ticket for a wristband on site. Have you checked out viagogo? It's safer than ebay to buy tickets off of.
manda
Crikey if it's only 15 minutes course we'll walk it! I just thought it was further. I don't think I've ever taken much notice of where it is. We were only going to look for Sunday tickets hence why we're probably going to go after work- be around 5/6ish on the friday, yeah we'll miss stuff but really can't afford to take more time off work this year. It's not much more expensive for weekend tickets at the moment so may as well go for it Been there done that with camping, just can't do it these days, need a good nights sleep to be able to enjoy the day and I can't do that camping at a festival. Always too noisy and too uncomfortable- takes me ages to shake off the back ache. It's free accomodation so might as well make the most of it, 1 stop on train. I will look at viagogo but they were definitely more expensive than ebay- they add on stupid amounts in additional fees. There are basic rules with ebay, buy off someone with good feedback, pay with paypal and credit card, pick up if possible etc so I'll keep options open for now! Thanks for the advice, anything else I should know?

manda
Yeah I think we'll be getting a taxi back- think the last train is something like 12.20 but I don't intend to miss any of Muse. Might leave a bit earlier on the saturday- seen The Strokes a few times before, depends whether anyone else grabs us once there I suppose. Just had a look on getmein- they have camping tickets for £142 but for 2 tickets with their fees it suddenly becomes £350! That really bugs me. There's no rush anyway, I'll just keep looking. Tickets seemed to go up in the past week or so- wonder if it's the Glasto influence.
