Are subbing the FR stage Saturday night according to the poster in the new Rock Sound mag.

I thought they were originally but pulled out before the announcement, which is why there's one band less? Maybe that's arseways.

I like Thursday, can't believe they'd be subbing The Midnight Beast.. whom I don't even know why they're headlining anyways.

It's ridiculous, although I guess it's because they're an alternative to The Strokes/Pulp, Jane's Addiction and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones.

Yeah turns out they pulled out before being announced. Bit of a bummer, not fussed about Thursday but would've made Rival Schools not clash with the start of The Strokes.

Didn't they sub the third stage a few years ago? Why would they drop to subbing the fourth - have they lost a load of popularity since then?

I don't think you can put the dance/lock-up and FR tent in an order as at least one of them is heavily specialised, they should sit next to each other underneath the R1/NME tent. You could say moving from the lock-up to the FR could be a good thing as they would have broken out enough to appeal to fans of various music rather than just being aimed at the traditional punk/ska/metal fans in the lock-up.

I've always thought of the FR stage as the 3rd stage and the lock-up/dance tent as a kind of extra, not sure if one is any bigger than the other capacity wise though

I think the lock-up is slightly bigger, but yeah because it's specialised it sort sits outside the normal progression of the stages.
