If this does turn out to be true and they book them then I wonder what Reading's line up will be. Foos have apparently been heavily rumoured as it's the 20th anniversary of Nirvana playing, I guess they won't be exclusive

Asked if he would consider booking either Foo Fighters or Red Hot Chili Peppers for 2012, he said: "They're both two that we're talking to, amongst a whole list of others. I also think we could have Green Day and Blink-182 here, but none of those are confirmed."

RHCP they're welcome to, one of the shitest live acts going. I wouldn't care if they miss out on the Foos as long as they go for an act of equal size. I think next year could be very interesting for all fests.

Really means nothing, I can imagine any fest would want to Foo's about playing. I reckon their a cert for R&L next year though, they'll want a massive act to shift ticket, especially after this year. Added to the fact Dave loves Reading and it's the whole 20th anniversary of the Nirvana show, I can see FR going further to secure them.
