designer1234
I'm starting work as an intern at a superannuation fund in the city. From what I've gathered, having being to the office a couple of times, the dress code seems to be strict corporate (eg everyone was wearing collared shirts and suits only). So besides a cotton collar shirt and pencil skirt...what else could I wear in the scorching hot weather??!!! May I also add, would I be able to wear peep-toes or high-heeled sandals, or do I always have to wear plain closed toe black heels? This is my first "real" office job so I really have no idea about clothing etiquette... Does this dress can wear when I am at work : http://www.karenmillen-coats.com/black-structured-zippy-pencil-karen-millen-dress-dm046-p-301.html so if anyone works in a similar corporate environment I would really appreciate your advice! jump
This is a very strange thread. I've worked for too many corporate companies in London and if you wear that it'll be fine but it's a bit too stylish for the 1st day on the job so try something more low key. Did you have an interview in the building and see what the other girls were wearing?
The Nal
Looks great yeah, maybe find a pair of shoes with some clear heels too.

Katster
Last 'school' year was the first time I have ever worked somewhere that expected 'corporate' dress. I hated it at first but now I quite like it. Matalan do some great cheaper office wear lines, as do asda, tesco and sainsburys. I tend to mix and match bargains from there and charity shops with a proper, expensive suite. I was actually surprised by how expressive I could be, whilst sticking to the guidelines. Costume jewellery rocks! Enjoy.
