Delinquent
Hi all, I have recently been asked to be the best man for my close friends wedding and need to arrange the stag do and would really appreciate peoples recommendations and also any places to avoid. The criteria I have been given: - Cheap/reasonable beer/drinks prices - Affordable flights/accommodation - Plenty of good places to drink/good nightlife (activities less important) - Safe, low risk of trouble with locals, friendly locals Thank you for anythhing people are kind enough to share. Please also tell about bad places/experiences so they can potentially be scratched off the list. P.S. Strip clubs not really welcome as I think the groom is too afraid of his mrs finfing out! lost
Best one Ive been on recently has been Prague, most of the countries that have adopted the euro are now quite expensive but with still being on the krona we were paying 70 - 80p a pint in the pubs last year near our apartment in Prague 5, and around £1.20 in the touristy places. You can also still smoke in pubs which for some of us was like dying and going to heaven. Flights seem to be pretty cheap with jet 2 / easy jet and most hotels again seem pretty reasonable. There were loads of clubs including what we were told was the biggest in Europe near Charles Bridge but we found heading away from the obvious places tended to result better experiences as the locals seemed to keep away from the obvious stag places. Ed209
Krakow is fantastic. Historical, cheap and a lot of fun...and the woman? oh my lord
Kowalski
Tallinn gets my vote. Beautiful city, plenty of bars etc and late night entertainment Full of Finnish birds at the weekend as Helsinki is a short ferry ride away and they all come over for the weekend. The only downside is that its probably cheaper to get to Prague or Krakow. I've also heard Riga is good. I don't remember drink in Prague being as cheap as £1.20 in the touristy areas, and that was about 4 years ago. Maybe we went to the wrong bars. Yoghurt on a Stick
Although I haven't been for a number of years I did used to go to Dublin quite often as my brother was working there. I always found the drink prices to be very expensive. This adds up to a lot of cash if you are going to drink a shed load, which you probably will on a stag weekend. Therefore I'd advise you to be cautious with choosing this place as a venue. I also heard that people in the city night spots are a bit tired of stag weekenders. Kowalski
I would stay well clear of Dublin, its seriously expensive in the tourist areas (which is where you'll end up on a stag weekend). One of the most expensive cities I've been to for a night out. It was a lot cheaper before the Euro!
brighteyes
I don't like Dublin much either, but had an awesome time on a stag do in Northern Ireland last year. Belfast's great but out in the smaller towns was where we had most fun. Really good people, the Northern Irish.

Ed209
Krakow is your best bet i reckon. The hostel I stayed in Krakow would have been perfect for stag groups too and cheap as chips if you book far enough in advance - here. Already decided I'm having my stag weekend in Krakow, I just need to find a woman
Gre
Prague is indeed good- plenty of places that do cheap drink, just a couple of blocks off the main drags. There are lots of drug dealers just offering on the street, and guys trying to get you to go into their club with promises such as 'a monkey f**king a midget'. There are pickpockets about too, who don't even try and be discreet. It is a great and cheap place to go though- beautiful & historic city to if you fancy a bit if culture too. We flew Easyjet from East Midlands last time I went. I've heard a lot about Talinn and Riga for the past 5-10 years, saying to go there before they get too developed and turn into the new Prague. But yeah, definitely head a few hours east.

Yoghurt on a Stick
There's a week long festival in Krakow next May where all the students go on the piss. See link below; http://www.whatsonwhen.com/sisp/index.htm?fx=event&event_id=218905#fragment-1'>http://www.whatsonwhen.com/sisp/index.htm?fx=event&event_id=218905#fragment-1 Looks like it would be a perfect time for a stag do. It doesn't give the specific dates in May next year but I'm sure you can find this out via Krakow's tourist information office. Just for anyone's general interest there's a website which shows you world events - see link below http://www.whatsonwhen.com/sisp/index.htm
Gre
Are those genuine promises? If so, I have to go
