Most of my favourites have been in the tents and to be honest I've probably been let down more times than blown away by main stage headliners.

Exceptions have been Pearl Jam 06, Rage and Metallica 08 and Bjork and Neil Young (with Pearl Jam) 95. Faith No More 09 and The Streets this year both on NME would rank up alongside them for me no problem.

This surprises me, not only because it's so short, but also because I can't believe I've seen all the headliners since 2008 barring Arctic Monkeys and Kings of Leon. Also I've seen better sets from Rage and Metallica that would have got into the list, but going by Reading sets alone, they've allowed Blink 182 and My Chemical Romance to sneak in there.

Faith No More would definitely make the list also.
