mrtourette
Leeds or Reading? Atmosphere at Reading was better and more chilled, although crappy weather, fewer tickets sold and apparent higher percentage of older attendees would explain that. Apparently crime was down by 50%, there was a full breakdown in the local paper (since despatched to the great recycling centre in the sky), this is the best online article I can find: http://www.localberkshire.co.uk/news/roundup/articles/2011/08/28/53925-reading-festival-crime-down-by-50/

Rudzkii
Leeds was fine for me, much better than '07 and '10 (the previous years I've been). Only thing that happened to me was that I'd unloaded my tent on the sunday morning as we were leaving on the sunday night and I left some energy drinks to grab on the way out and when I went to get them my tent, infact our entire camp had disappeared. But after talking to the marshalls on the way out apparently they were dismantling empty tents to prevent people burning them which was a very smart idea. rexclark
It was much better at Leeds this year than the last few. Didn't really see any trouble at all and the atmosphere was alot better. Hopefully we've turned a corner and the dickheads have decided to go elsewhere. Jaybles
I thought Reading was the best i have been to since i started going in 2002. In terms of trouble, atmosphere and organisation. The was no trouble at all (in the usually hectic Purple site). I had a undisturbed sleep on the Sunday night which i have never had before. Organisation seemed much better too. The amount of wood-chip put down in preparation helped the mud situation. They were constantly draining the fields of excess water. Toilets were the cleanest I have seen at a festival, driving out on the Monday took me all of 30 seconds once I was in the car.
