had you heard that they were booked? As much as we may differ on many things, I tend to believe you don't deal in tittle tattle and unfounded rumour - without stating it's rumour.

We've repeated what's been reported, without comment on its substance in fact.

I don't know if it's true or not, but I don't think someone would care about losing a headliner they never had to get into that sort of rage, do you?

The download forums are going mental, I think most of them look at copping as being some sort of god. They don't seem to like efestivals for this one. Infact they are just beginning to doubt the story completely.

AC is alright, he's at least approachable and he does his best to answer questions. He lost a lot of credability with last years's line up though. He hyped it it up way too much bearing in mind who he had booked!!

The Download boards always have hated efestivals, if they see something on here they think its lies.

I have never understood why, no-one seems to actually know why either, they just hate it.

That being said efests is a Glasto focused website mainly, it started as that and always will be, Download has their own boards which unlike some other festivals websites are REALLY good, and have a high user input. So maybe thats it.

In regards to [im guessing Neil not Scottie] attacking Andy Coppings choice of acts he's not shy about sharing that he's going to today and tomorrow, I don't understand the point in that, he doesn't book those for his festival, whats wrong with him going to see whom he wants to see? Its a bit embarassing to be honest, I understand people like different types of music and are open minded, he's probably got the tickets as freebies and is going with someone like a partner who likes those artists. Everybody doesn't have to be a metal head or just pure pop.

Ive gone to Download numerous times and also V, I don't like every artist on either bill, but I don't box in my music tastes.

I have more regard for someone going to a Katy Perry gig with your mrs, than someone who would refuse to go with them and share something that they're enjoying and being part of that moment, it's called not being selfish.

Anyway, enough on that, back on the topic in hand, I have no doubt that they were booked or in deep negotigations, and yeah Andy is gutted about it, they're one of his favourite bands, and from a business point it would have been a big deal, and like I wrote earlier, if he's of the belief they've been booked no doubt they cost a fortune and its probably influenced other booking decisions, he could have spent less elsewhere and no he's stuck with a weaker line up in areas he could have beefed up with more cash.

Next years line up will be interesting thats for sure.

On the whole Van Halen thing i was never a massive fan in the 80's so i was not over fussed but i can see why AC is annoyed, if this was to have been their only Uk date who knows Download could have had the 110k that AC/DC had in 2010 thus securing the festival for another few years.

Ozzy came out yesterday and said a Sabbath reunion is possible.

"Yes, it's a very, very strong possibility," Ozzy said of the reunion. "It's in the very early stages, so we haven't recorded anything yet. If it works out, it'll work out. If it doesn't, I'll keep doing my thing."

So always still a possibility?
