kaosmark2
I'm sure the first album will sky rocket in sales because of this.
The Nal
Same. Just would have thought it might take a few more days to really say? Edited October 19, 2011 by The Nal
eFestivals
Just curious but is there anyway to find out if the Stone Roses have had a jump in album sales since they announced all of this? i should have the mid-weeks about this time tomorrow, so I'll try to remember to see what they say. jump
i wonder how many people are going to buy tickets for their shows (so they can say they've seen them live.... tick the box.... buy the t-shirt etc etc...) - because of their supposed legendary status - but don't really know what they sound like, so are buying the albums now

Ed209
Always thought the stone roses were massively over-rated for what is a very patchy output. Fools Gold, one great album, one average album, several disappointing gigs. Its hardly going to be a two hour set of bonified classics. They can barely scrape together a two hour set. I understand why this is a massive nostaliga trip for the middle aged, and that's cool. I understand the cultural impact they had, I hope people enjoy it. Buts in the list of great British rock/pop acts, they're fairly far off the top in my opinion.
Sparticus
Defo yeah but it will rise dramatically. I know the Roses havent performed yet but remember after Live8 all the albums sales the next day? The Who were up 1000% or something. If the Roses appear on Jools for example and do Fools Gold and I Am The Resurrection I'd say HMV will be full of hooded trouble makers the next day looking to rob the first album. thetime
Nme are stating 1000% increase in sales since the announcement. I'll probably leave heaton park (saw oasis there, good singalong but they looked like ants on the stage, and the hike back into manc city centre was not fun times!) and catch them at a festival next year. Ed209
I would expect it to be precisely that.
fatyeti24
i keep hearing about 'one good album, one not so good' etc, which is cool, it's all subjective and all that, but the songs collated on Turns Into Stone contain some absolute gems, far better than the edited down versions on The Complete Stone Roses. i know it's not a 'proper' album, but it's well worth owning a copy if you like the first lp. Ed209
just found myself listening to the Seahorses - Do it Yourself. First time in about 13 years I think. Not a great album, but a harmless listen. Sounds a bit dated now though.
pehaw
I suppose they could always do a half hour version of fools gold, a 15 minute version of I am the Resurection, piss about with Waterfall for a bit. You're right, they can probably squeeze two hours out of it
Ed209
As you say, you're not a fan and that couple of sentences proves it. Fair enough. Edited October 19, 2011 by Ed209
joe1990
How does that prove I'm not a fan? I actually am a fan albeit not a massive fan, granted. You can like something and think its over-rated though. I'm just being realistic here, they don't have that much material to draw on, and imo don't have the two hours of classic sing-a-long hits that a band like Blur were able to pull from on their reunion. But thats because Blur had 7 albums. Fools gold, Elephant Stone, Sally Cinnamon and the entirety of their two albums comes to about 2 hours. Not every song on Second Coming is a "bonefied classic". In fact there'll probably be a huge number at the gig who have never listened to second coming. I don't think my claim is too outrageous

Uncle Liam
Three things visible from space, The Great Wall of China, Man City's (nearly) empty trophy and the millions of pounds stashed away in SJM's bank account after three nights sell out tomorrow morning. Kowalski
Mani has posted this on the Webadelica forum: “I don't really wanna say too much at the minute, until I've had a chance to speak to the rest of the scream team. I will be playing my final scream gig,for the foreseeable future,at the Hogmanay celebration in Edinburgh. I have found myself manoeuvred into a position that, although myself and the scream knew it could always arise, kinda wish that it wasn't right now. We've just enjoyed our best year yet, well since I joined anyway, and started looking forward to the next project. One things for sure, with or without me, the scream are never stronger than they are right now.it's difficult to walk away from 15 years of watching people, families, bands grow up together, truly fucking heartbreaking, and my sanity has been pulled in a million different directions over it,but I have to finish my first dream off properly, good or bad. It wouldn't be fair for me to try and do both things either, each band command 100% respect and attention, but my intention is to never fully close the door with the scream, if that's possible. I skill always be there if they ever want to use me for anything, I now become part of the famous revolving door policy. I'll keep you up to speed on further developments, thank you for your undying support, it is very humbling, xxxx I love every man jack of ya. !.
