Another off topic post, but does anyone know whats caused Neil to remove the T in The Park forum?

Someone raised a new subject in the 'Other Festivals' section asking where it had gone....Neil's response was "It no longer exists and won't be returning. It's more trouble than it's worth."

Anyone?

It was a few idiots who don't know when to shut up that has ruined it for the rest if us. Missed the actual argument that led to the forum deletion but you could see it coming. Just a shame that people that actually need it won't be able to because some people will argue about the most meaningless things.

What I've said is all you need to know. If it becomes impossible to run a forum on any sensible basis no forum will be run at all.

Those users have brought it on themselves, and it's those users who lose out.

End of.

As an administrator/owner you have to do what you feel is best and it appears that this course of action was a last resort.

when a large number of users are 'demanding' their 'right' to post wrong stage info which runs the risk of ruining the festival for others who might read it and believe it, and when the right stage info was by-then available, it's time to shut up shop.

And then, when those people are one moment saying I'm licking the T organisers arse in making my moderating decisions, and then the next moment saying I'm making those moderating decisions on the basis of their fantasised racism I supposedly have for Scots, then I get to realise that too many people who are using those forums are too stupid to use forums or have much in the way of any sensible social interaction at all.

It all brought home to me that it was an utter waste of my time, and a waste of the time of any decent people who might have wanted to use those forums.

I now fully understand why T in the Park shut down their own official forums many years ago ... and even the morons who like to throw in the racist word at any non-Scot who dares to do anything against that moron's wishes would have great trouble at throwing the racist card at T for doing that. ;)

Hopefully Kendal have scrapped last years "Can only take alcohol in once" rule, as it was very silly and unneeded in my opinion.

Just remember that the only (and I think sensible) rule to stick too is no glass at all! No glass bottles allowed; so just be aware of that.

You'll find the best place to get them, even at short notice is the official Kendal facebook page, as Mick said earlier the tickets sell at face value and the organisers remove any posts where people are trying to make a profit.there are quite a few being sold but on the flip side loads of people trying to buy.

im quite happy that fridays main stage line up isnt the strongest for my tastes, it'll give me the opportunity to get round some other areas and enjoy the atmosphere. If im not careful i can see me being pretty much camped at the main stage most of saturday and sunday. I may have to sacrifice some of the bands i wanna see to do a bit of listening to new bands and singers.

I'd gladly trade a few of these acts to the wickerman line up to make that a little stronger ! for pretty much the same outlay kendal seems ahead of wickerman and miles ahead of solfest

Good point... Kendal Calling is on a different planet line up wise this year. Really impressed that they have continued to build on the line up long after a sell out was a cert. Wickerman could learn alot from this approach. Like many have said before, theres almost too much going on to have any chance of catching everyone youd want to see. Sorry if I`ve missed this before but is there a kids tent / area to amuse the young ones ( and us old ones ) during the warm sunny afternoons ?

Anyone had much time to digest much of the big announcement yesterday and managed to find a few bands to recommend ?

I'm working loads at the minute so it'll be next week by the time I get a chance

I'll put a cross through their name then...I need to get the list down somehow

Might strike out 'Sound Of Guns' as well on basis living in Birmingham all I need to do is stick me head out of the window to hear that
