lharris92
Just because Matt is in (Sweden I think?) on the saturday of Sonisphere, doesn't mean he can't make a quick flight to knebworth on the Friday or Sunday, most bands are all over Europe on festival weekends. If they were offered a headline slot, I'm sure he wouldn't mind a couple of hours on a plane on a day off Also notice how every festival that has announced Soundgarden so far are in countries that don't have sonispheres other than Sweden, which is probably going to be the same weekend as Sonisphere UK again anyways so wouldn't be able to share them. TYLER_4
i just get a feeling soundgarden will be at reading this year, probably wrong just a gut feeling.
mrtourette
For that to be the case they'd have to play European festivals early in the Summer, Matt Cameron would tour with PJ and then Soundgarden would then come back to the UK 6-8 weeks later. Seems unlikely unless they're doing their own tour at the same time.
t8yman
Even though he said last year that they weren't big enough to headline? Sounds like he's playing games so that when they get announced as a sub it looks like a really good booking.
luckysalt
He was like that for MONTHS before download too, think he had them booked for Friday night headliner and they pulled out leaving him with Def Leppard, cus one minute he was praising them then he was slagging them off for pushing Europe back til next year. I reckon he's not got them now thinking about it. Although I dunno if Soni have them or he's just being stubborn not booking them cus they let him down this year and didnt want them doing it again, so now he's booked other heads and their tour is going ahead but they want same money to play he offered last time even tho this time theyre not headlining and he's not got the budget perhaps. I think it'll be something overcomplicated like that if theyre not at DL
GRichards23
The Prodigy Evanescence Enter Shikari Machine Head Metallica Tenacious D Trivium Offspring Black Sabbath Scorpions Motley Crue Chase and Status/Skrillex Pure guess. luckysalt
I dont think Tenacious D would play anything other than sub or headline second stage myself. Theyre a big act certainly as big as last years subs. Think it looks likely but agree on Offspring, id like that line up, but not Enter Sherari that high, hope theyre lowrr
theramm
Evanescence will sub Tallica. Soundgarden will take a high slot (either sub main or headline 2nd) & The Offspring wont be there.
biffoire
Tenacious D are a novelty band and to have them 2nd to a headliner would be a waste of a slot. They subbed for Metallica at Leeds when Slipknot pulled out and weren't that great imo.

biffoire
Indeed Lithium, but if pantomime is your thing, you must be in your element at this time of year. They struck me as a great band to have on mid afternoon but seemed to lack what I think an act that high up the bill should have. I guess you either get Jack Black or you don't and I find him quite tiresome. I love the other guy.

gazza_20
Saw this guys on Download Forums. Go to 3.40, in minutes that is, interesting thing there. And with what's been said recent and efests taking Soundgarden down off of Soni rumors, Download is looking very possible you'd have to say. Thing is, it's said they're a headlining band in the Uk but they taking a spot at RAR that'd kinda equivalent to Dowload sub too in terms of Metalica are heading RAR and Download and Soundgarden are subbing. I can't see Soundgarden subbing Metallica, the idea of Evanescence doing that isn't a bad shout, more realistic thatn subbing The Prodigy I'd say. gazza_20
This is think is a good prediction and covers all angles, also has good cross in bands from subs to 2nd stage headers if people don't want to see the main one's. The Prodigy QOTSA Limp Bizkit Machine Head Metallica Evanescence Trivium Enter Shikari Black Sabbath Soundgarden Motley Crue You Me At Six
luckysalt
Well from that Id say we have Soundgarden ALSO interesting was AC's comments today on twitter when asked about the upcoming announcement and will you give any hints he said ''Sadly not...I get accused of over hyping things and letting people down, so now.................silence'' Could be why he downplayed the Rock AM Ring announcement

gazza_20
Id love it! And it looks realistic, although I no longer think Limp Bizkit are in the running, dont think theyre in Europe all summer. Swap them with Rise Against. And QOTSA will probably be elsewhere sadly, they just don't do Download!

luckysalt
efests took Soundgarden off after Pearl Jam dates were announced. btw I said swap Limp Bizkit with Rise Against, thats 3rd. Can't wait to see the Download announcement now, Soni will be announcing in Jan and its before the ticket increase, think its gunna be really strong. How long left about 3 weeks? Black_Crow
It is possible that Soundgarden might do 1-2 early fests ie Pinkpop, Sweden Rock and then Pearl Jam until July, Soundgarden again in August. Metal Hammer know as much as we do. They also said where in the UK will they be that weekend, which weekend? Rock am Ring or Sweden Rock weekend? AC basically said Rock am Ring's lineup is boring and unimaginative. He also said Soundgarden are headlining size, Melvin Benn also said they would have to headline if they played Reading. I don't think he's got any of the bigger bands from RaR.

Black_Crow
People have a point though, headline spot from Melvin Benn or not. It's clear that their reception and crowd will be much better at Download. Andy says a lot of stuff though
