Watched the first episode last night. Mighty impressive. The Killer Whale hunting the seals and knocking them off the ice is incredible, so intelligent. The Polar Bears mating is pretty rare too. Can wait for the next one.

the gentoo penguins are super cute, saw them just after they had been born, they are fluffy all over which they slowly lose but a few had fluff just on the head. Afro penguins

when a huge chunk of the population are prepared to give that c**t murdoch £50-£60 per MONTH, i really dont begrudge funding the bbc. theres plenty wrong with the organisation, but I think they realise things have to change, the move to salford was a massive right move imho. I know people who regularly pay £100 a week to go to football with their kids, 90 minutes of sometimes shite football. its all relative.

What a great series!!

David Attenborough impresses me every time I see him on TV. 85 years of age and hes walking and sitting on the ice in the North Pole beside sedated polar bears, doing bits in -40c etc. Remarkable stuff.

I need to get hold of the BBC versions. When broadcast in the US they remove Sir David's voice overs and replace them with Sigourney Weaver. I really do despair at this country sometimes

Has anyone got the BBC Earth series Human Planet and is it any good? I believe it is John Hurt who does the narration though.

I thought Human Planet was excellent. John Hurt has a great voice for it (not to take away anything that Sir David has ever done though of course).

As for the polar bear cubs, I did wonder how on earth they filmed it!
