Yeah you're right there mate they did win an award for it and i don't normally agree with the critics to be honest but after seening Muse last year and Linkin Park at Download this year I think LP are slightly better live in terms of sound but Muse probably win in terms of fancy production, I like Chester's style of singing better than Matt's though so i am probably biased.

They don't mime. I'm going to make it seven times. And it's not commonly known, the main thing that's recently been pointed out that they are almost too good live. You can easily tell there is no miming cuz they don't sound exactly like on record I wouldn't say and I bloody love them, but most bands don;t sound exactly like on record.

Erm, I hate to burst your bubble, but I'm sure it's fairly common knowledge that Linkin Park mime the shit out of their "live performances", which is why it sounds so crisp, the only ones in Linkin Park actually doing anything live is him on the decks and the sound technicians. I've seen them live more than I probably should have (5 times I think) and from the third time onwards I got wind of the miming, and once you know it's clear as day.

It's also common knowledge that they have won multiple awards for best *live* act/band so it's a bit messed up if they fooled all the critics by being a bunch of mime artists, I have also seen them about the 4 times and i thought i was pretty good at telling if someone is miming and i once saw Chester do an epic scream for about 40 seconds and when they covered Adele at the iTunes festival so they would have prerecorded things like that to? And i don't mean to sound like a big fanboy but alot of people think it's mimed because of how it sounds so similar to the album.

It would be good if Linkin Park were the 3rd headliner and they dragged Lithium on the stage to witness there live! performance lol not really Lithium your alright dude, it's just me, Gazza and most "live" music critics that are douchie naive teenagers (even though i am in my 20's).

Well having been to 200 odd gigs and 18 festivals over the past 10 years or so, I like to think of myself as fairly savvy when it comes to live music. And having heard reports from support bands and bands who have shared the stage with them at festivals, and having seen it myself, I am certain that what they do is fake. It's all processed to hell and back. I used to be a fan, and still would be if I wasn't 100% sure about this.

Think of it as a rite of passage, like when you found out the tooth fairy, Slash and the Easter bunny weren't real ;)

No you didn't i just wanted to add douchie in there i wasn't quoting you but anyway i understand you're seasoned gig goer and i wish i had your money to go to 3 festivals in a year lol and nice South Park reference as well, nothing will change them from being one of my favorite bands i just find there music refreshing and they are not afraid to do things differently and Chester has the ultimate voice for Metal/Rock etc, i could go on about the reasons why i like them...... but why are they often winning best *live* act awards? because you have been to alot of gigs it doesn't make you the all-knowing lord of live music... Mr Scientist!

I'm not claiming to be the all knowing lord of live music. What I am saying is that after seeing them at the O2 a few years ago and finding something... Off, about their performance, I looked into it and found a few reports that seemed to confirm my suspicions, and having spoken to people in bands who have shared a stage with them it was confirmed that as an observer from the side of the stage it is clear that much of what they do live has been precorded. I'm really not trying to be a dick about this, but from all reports I've heard, the notes that are played have their pitch changed digitally, with the static/feedback/distortion removed and the vocals are sustained and extended by the sound techs. From what I've been told by friend's who are musicians, it's not possible to play a Linkin Park song live (in the traditional sense at least) without thousands of pounds worth of technology backing it up. That's why you don't hear pub bands covering them!

I have heard people cover them there is a on youtube called gigascythe that covers them well but he does use technology because that is a big part of their sound and technology is a huge part music in general theese days which Linkin Parks case i think is good because they use it brilliantly they are excellent musicans and the best live band i have ever and i have seen a lot over the years. one more point i would like to make is that i never got under aged fish to perform bass to mouth.

I have to say bud that after their o2 shows, people raved about them, how good they were, how spot on live they were. There project rev gigs from people who went got even better views from some people. The review of their live o2 gigs were phenominal.

Pendulum have done a cover of The Catalyst in the Live Lounge!, have they not?

I wouldn't be surprised if thousands of pounds worth of gear were invovled, they didn't record it in the 1st place without using that anyway,m no band does.

I honestly think it'll be The Prodigy. Moreso than Paramore, Rammstein or Nickelback.

Paramore I think would be 2nd and still do.

Rammstein would have played I think othe other year, Download have been trying for years, they went Soni for a reason. A bit like RATM with R&L download and the time, they chose R&L. Difference with these is they got back together and toured whereas Rammstein just hardly toured the UK and I think they would be sitting on the bill right where Metallica are now.

Nickelback, never got them to tour for some reason, I think they'll favour their own shows.

The Prodigy are a huge draw, a big chance for everyone to see them headline who thinks they can, a different headliner and leaving the extra cash for other bands. Also a perfect alternate to people that are huge on MH. It also would not only beat Soni getting them but is a step higher than R*L would give them to go back. I reckon they might sub Kasabian at Pheonix thou.
