Guest
According to http://www.gigwise.com/news/68664/Green-Day-Foo-Fighters-The-Prodigy-For-Reading-And-Leeds-Festival-2012 , 'an exclusive source' has said the headliners are Green Day, Foo Fighters and The Prodigy. This has also been reported on www.leedsfest.org . Thoughts?
mrtourette
What's with all the Prodigy rumours? Do they have a new album out or something? Also this has already appeared in another thread so don't expect too much excitement.
gazza_20
Yes they do, expected for late this year, early next i think, and 3 festivals if not 4 will be going for them. Gotta say if this does happen, my natural thought is Pendulum being in a headliner in 13, Played Downloal last, it's predictable but favourable to many. Black_Crow
Is a lot different to what I heard. As far as I'm concerned Blur will be one of the headliners.
gazza_20
I can see it happening, they attract a crowd far bigger than the nme stage and they'd need it as dark as it possibly could be. Pendulum have not been around as log as the prodigy, i don't feel they're status is stuck on sub/2nd stage headline, just think they haven't got they're yet. joe1990
after last years should we say monumental cock up with the line up, i believe the organizers must no they have to pull something huge out of the bag, would those three headliners be the key? foos no doubt, the rest is up for debate. luckysalt
I believe they'll probably have a couple of rock headliners as Andy Copping must have heard as he said Reading will be back to having an amazing line up next year, so he's probably heard after Live Nation tried to book an act and they were tied into a Reading contract. Foos and Green Day make sense in that regard.

she bangs the drums
they sold out Reading, it wasn't a business cock up.
gazza_20
You mean that they made a press announcement a week or so before the festival saying that Reading had sold out but in fact, lots of tickets were still freely available on many websites. Leeds must have had thousands of tickets left as the camp site were full of space and the Arena was pretty dead most of the weekend. Next year is a massive year for festivals and in particular R & L, MB will definitely have big name headliners, Green Day and Foo Fighters make sense to me along with say Jay Z/Kanye West. gazza_20
Jay-Z/Kayne West Bloc Party Dizzee Rascal Foo Fighters Biffy Clyro Mumford and Sons Green Day The Prodigy Avenged Sevenfold/Bullet For My Valentine ???
luckysalt
Where did you read this? Yes, as you say, it sounds like we have an act which they wanted. I saw the rumor of Blink 182, as they headlined last time, is it presumed they would be ruled out completely as a sub?
Jackmypie
Would deffo go to this. Though : Green Day Foos Stone Roses with Prodigy subbing would be even better
she bangs the drums
Reading actually did sell out the day before the fest, Leeds didnt. After this copping thing, Green Day might yes. Green Day, Blur, Foo Fighters would be huge
gazza_20
I'm pretty sure that they still had tickets on Ticketline up to the Thursday for Reading and were selling them without the booking fees......I still say they did that to save face and in effect pull up stumps so they could say that they had sold out even though all of the tickets had not sold. I didn't attend Reading so cannot speak for how many people were there or if there was any more space in the camp site than usual but I do know that tickets were going for both festivals on ebay for much less than face value as I picked up one for 80 pounds less than face value! GRichards23
That lineup would be huge. Bloc Party I agree with as it doesn't give The Prodigy the chance to over shadow Jay Z etc. The Prodigy will be a banging show but then Green Day have big guitar hits obvs so that will just go hand in hand. Dizzee is a good shout there ti split the rap up amd Mumford into Biffy would be awesome.
GRichards23
I did go and you could tell the difference at leeds. The crowd was still fairly packed further towards the main stage but further back a bit, was no problems. Yes Reading did until Thursday, Leeds didn't sell out. There was no doubting while the lineup was rubbish, it wasn't great either.
