lharris92
A7X would probably either headline nme/ be under a metally headliner if they were to play i reckon
gazza_20
3rd Green Day looks like the return of Placebo in all fairness
GRichards23
This looks possible, typical of you to slip A7X in there lol.
gazza_20
Oh i know, i'm far to predictable. As to A7X headlining the NME... I suppose they could clash with Jay-Z/Kayne West... gazza_20
I wouldn't rule it out, Leeds is there home town and they play staduim shows there still.
jump
Kaiser's won't sub, they'd struggle with 3rd down with their tour sales. Biffy I doubt will be there now and FATM IMO won't headline NME, I think she's too big for it. Melvin Benn has spoke about liking Pixies and wanting to book them so i can see them under Foo FIghters. If Dizzee is there, FATM is under him. Blur, DIzzee Rascal, FATM would work. Jay Z, DIzzee, FATM would too.
gazza_20
Most venues are sold out and they wouldn't struggle with 3rd.
jump
maybe the 3rd placing ok but i wouldn't say most of the venue's, half of them maybe and they are venues smaller. Norwich U.E.A for eg, is 1500 people. o2 academy birmingham hasn't and it's a 3k capacity? Same as o2 newcastle.
mrtourette
I think the Kaiser Chiefs would sub, wouldn't be surprised if Editors did as well.
gazza_20
That's because they are doing an extensive tour rather than what most bands do and have a handfull of bigger venues but it doesn't change what you're saying that tixs have been selling badly. jump
Extremely badly. If a band of sub which was used to be headliner status can't sell out a venue the capacity of what a band 3rd up on the main stage at R&L would get, something is wrong. Now people say certain slots are wasted, if R&L are trying to stay alive and regain some people, booking KC as 2nd headers is not the way, even booking them is not the way to go. I honestly believe they are entering NME headliners on recent sales.
GRichards23
When have they ever been headliners? At their peak they were subbing/2nd stage headliners at Glasto, TITP, R&L etc They just played a sold out a staduim show and they are doing an extensive tour more venues less capcity. Over half of the venues are sold out and I don't know how many tickets are sold (NEITHER DO YOU SO STOP PRETENDING YOU DO) for the venues that are not sold out I'd say probably around half so around 75% of all tixs sold is not selling badly. Not a chance in hell they'd be NME headliners, Leeds crowd would be far too big. 3rd is most likely and sub is possible but 4th far too low. rexclark
Kaiser Chiefs could still sub, especially with a huge act like Foos or Jay Z headlining.
jump
Never mind, Tourette summed it up yesterday. I think it's more the case that nobody can be bothered to argue. Edited November 17, 2011 by jump
