I reckon FR just don't like Kasabian, they never booked them for the main stage or since the 1st album and the only reason people keep predicting them is because they've played all the other fests. I still don't buy Prodigy were gonna headline, they're established subs/2nd stagers and when R&L gives a step up it's normally to an upcoming band.

2005 They Headlined NME and since then they have been one of this countries best rock acts and never come back! The Rotation between years and R&L is getting a little tidius! Its as if you dont play leeds for 5 years and then ya can headline again! Foo Fighters and Muse being examples!

I belive and think the three headliners planned were, Kasabian Foo Fighters and The Prodigy. However they didnt get Prodigy nailed down and now need a third headliner! Going to put this out there, Biffy Clyro to headline Reading and Leeds 2012.

They headlined a major festival in Sonisphere last year and also some smaller festivals such as Wakestock. They are very much capable of headling or Co-Headlining with sombody else maybe QOTSA or Bloc Party?

I would like to know what people think of Kasabian, have they got any chance? Or am i completly of the track.

I know, all that's been posted before. It's why Foo Fighters are the only band that there's some evidence that may play but we still don't know for sure.

This is what I read somewhere about Download grabbed them from R&L to replace the supposed Van Halen who didn't plan in the end.

For whatever reasons could be anything really. Either offered better deal or preferred to play there, but it is known is it not that The Prodigy loved Download?

Well the gigwise leak was always unlikely to be true by the headliners given going against what the festival traditionly has on and what you've read sounds like something someone has come up with to give credibilty to the leak whilst explaining why it's wrong yet right at the same time. So it's more bullshit to cover bullshit. IMO of course.

Why would Prodigy headline R&L? They haven't headlined since 02 and even then that was only at Reading as they subbed to GnR at Leeds. They aren't any bigger than they were in 09 when they subbed so I don't know why they would headline now. I'm not saying it would be a bad booking but it would certainly be a very lazy one.
