Gre
Not necessarily, if Walt Disney doesn't want images of Mickey mouse on wiki, he would be within his rights under this bill to shut it down.
Ed209
Its a ridiculous piece of legislation, drawn up by people who don't (and don't want to) understand how the internet works.
Ed209
You have to give Wiki credit, their idea of a blackout, together with the others who followed has really raised awareness of the problem. Its been all over the news, the petition to the senate has gathered over 3million signitures and growing. Now theres a number of original drafters and campaigners reversing their stance on it and rumours the president may veto it.

eFestivals
/me turns on GPS, checks location:- Nope not in the USA ! it doesn't matter - as far as that law goes, if you're linking you're guilty and if you're guilty extradition awaits. In fact that's the situation before that new law comes into effect, so gawd knows what extras come with that.
windy_miller
The whole thing is utterly ridiculous. Why should copyright holders have such preferrential treatment over any other type of business from the US government to dictate how the internet works? This is ultimately a failiure of the Holywood's buiness model, and it should be up to them to figure it out for themselves with government help, and without changes in the law. Also, why are sites that host, or link to copyrighted data worse than sites that host child pornography? If you are going to start blacklisting sites, then at least use it for something 99% of the worlds popultaion find offensive, not something funded by big business in order to protect their revenue streams. fred quimby
Very handsome chair though it has to be said Scottie. You have exquisite taste. When you're getting anally annihilated at shower time in a federal penitentiary by some gang banger called Kayshawn, at least you can take refuge knowing your taste in antique seating furniture momentarily enthused me. windy_miller
Not back to the people who've paid for lengthy premium subscriptions apparently. One of my friends had 10 months left on a premium account and isn't getting a penny back.
Jaybles
I never understood why anyone would pay for a premium acount on megaupload (or any other file sharing site).
