has download changed last 3 or 4 years?

not been to download for a while, but thinking about it if rock werchter headliners dont improve.

used to love download but for some reason, probably cutting back on big festivals and being around glasto/werchter time.

so has it changed alot? after the bands stuff, atmosphere(one of the reasons why I loved it), crowds etc etc.

Difficult really as most people will have a different opinion.

For me it changed slightly in 2008 when they moved the arena away from the race track, the sight of the dunlop tyre , the stage in the same old place etc but that's probably just me being sentimental as it took me back to the mid 80's.

The crowd in the arena seem just the same still a good rowdy bunch.

Now camping is a different matter, in my opinion where you camp can make or break your weekend, as i have got a bit older (44 next year) i prefer the quieter family camping as you do not get the groups of rowdy youths jumping on your tent at 4am.

Band wise difficult to say as every year i can always find at least 5 bands a day i would like to see and although headliners sell tickets it is down to the individuals taste.

Late night areas are hit or miss, good if you like fair rides, but it's great to be able to just have a walk round and a few beers later if you want to.

all in all we always have a great weekend always have and probably always will?

Night time entertainment is up and down to be honest, this year it was back to being up there. They had two different tents that had DJs playing music in and an outdoor stage playing music, the indoor tents are better for sound and atmos reasons, but they had a good selection of music, Daniel P Carter from Radio 1 Rock Show DJ'ed on of the nights.

The good thing about the tents is they let you take your booze in now, unlike recent years, you have to put it in a Plastic pint glass but still its good you don't have to stop drinking.

Regarding campsites Ive never had or seen one bit of trouble at Download, and everyone just seems up to having a laugh and getting on with each other.

Rockaoke was quite funny i thought and the comedy tent wasn't bad this year either.

i love Download, brilliant weekend.

but then i am quite easily pleased, beer- check, rock music - check, kebabs - check.

you can probably get chocolate there as well.

its still got the download spirit/vibe. camping is far better than soni IMHO, the stages/setup is very very good.

I love it (I'm 41 next birthday), but may well be giving it a miss next year, all of my mates are hellbent on doing soni, and I have no real desire to see any of the headliners again. if dillinger were announced on the undercard, I would consider a day ticket.
