whoops, didn't see this thread!

i'm doing a 730 mile charity bike ride from Morocco to Portugal in July, just over a 100 miles a day, and i'm finishing in Lisbon with this fest as my well done to myself

Was going to camp, but have ended up getting a hotel 6k from the festival site, looking forward to it!

Is there much to do besides the music acts?

totally enormouse extinct dinosaurs confirmed for another festival in Portugal so doubt they'll play at optimus, shame

I think Caribou will be the main support for Radiohead on Sunday. They're supporting them practically everywhere else and I reckon it might have been an insistence on Radiohead's behalf for them to do the same at Optimus. I remember in 2006 when Beck supported them on some European dates and then when Radiohead played the V festival, Beck was sub

-headlining. That looked an out of place booking for V and I reckon Radiohead might have had a say in it for Beck to be there and maybe it might be the same for Caribou. Might not be. Just a thought anyway.

Considering that day has nearly sold out I don't think there ever was a huge need for a big undercard for it anyway. Plus surely if it was a biggish band it would have been announced for now.

...I was wondering if stage times will be announced nearer the time of the festival and/or if there is some kind of clashfinder for this year's Optimus Alive?

I can see your logic but i'm still hopeful for a decent sized act on that day whether they play immediately before radiohead or not. Caribou are supporting them on most of their regular tour dates but i don't think so on the other fests (bbk live, bonnaroo, fuji rocks). I can see the comparison with 2006 but Beck are (now but were even more so then) a far bigger act than caribou who are also a fair amount smaller than justice and snow patrol or florence on the other days (imo). There's only four acts on that day and they've had five or more every day of every previous year (bar the thursday/4th day last year which is slightly different).

I do agree its concerning it isn't announced yet though as the last mainstage announcement was ages ago...

What time does the music go on until on the Monday morning? Don't want to be booking flights too early.

At least we have Zola Jesus for 13th Heineken stage.

We have the opcion of pick bands from Rock in Rio Lisboa (its finishing right now) or Primavera sound Oporto.

They may confirm some new bands from these fests when these have finished.

I hope pick a few names from there, we have James, Beach House, M83, Chromatics...

Got some friends that want to come now but the same flights that i booked from Luton are over £200 dearer the flights back on the monday have gone up loads.

£240 for flights for both me and my girlfriend doesn't seem so bad now!

Only just found out about this festival..,.really wanna go, but campsite is completely sold out. Can anyone tell me if its easy to get to another campsite in the area, if there are any, or to Lisbon city centre, also after the music in the middle of the night?
