manchester rock clubs

hi were going to manc in few weeks to see two door cinema club.

Any ideas of all night rock clubs there, saves us getting hotels.

Would be for a friday.

cant think of many off the top of my head, 5th avenue night club is supposed to be good for cheap drinks, loud indie/rock music and sticky floors.

all night you might be out of luck im afraid. most clubs shut between 3 and 4. mc donalds are open all night, on the corner of Oxford road. so you wont go hungry at least.

Rockworld was the last all night rock club, but the smoking ban killed it

there is a pool hall called the Rainbow Pool Club, they are 24 hour and sell beer. Get everyone to sign up for a casino membership and you can drink coffee there until daybreak as well.

Satans Hollow, Retro Bar (sometimes), Grand Central and the Salisbury are all rock clubs if the music is what you are after

The purple pussycat is open until 6am but it isn't a rock club/bar. It does do amazing cocktails though and the music is good enough.

Since Jillys closed there is not a lot. I have bags of space at mine if you want to crash or stay up. 10 min bus ride from the city centre

rainbow don't serve beer all night, they haven't got a licence for it, plus you have to be a member, & if your not you have to put money behind the bar before your aloud in.

"Friendly snooker hall with reasonably good quality tables and friendly staff. Used to be unlicenced and allowed u to bring ur own beer in but its now licenced and has a bar.

We turned up on the first night it had a bar with our own beer but were allowed to bring it in.

Overall a reasonable club amd worth a visit."

5th Av is now shite. I've walked past and they've been playing Snow Patrol, Rhianna and Lady Ga Ga.

Retro is now only open until 3.

go tothe pub up the road called "Big Hands" most of the bands hang in there after the gigs too. its open till late ( not sure exactly what time) leave there when it shuts and walk down oxford road into the town,

failing that, book the etap hotel, its only £18 a room, and sleeps 3, tram across the road into the city center too.

5th Ave is basically a school disco, I'd steer clear of it. Venue and 42s are both really good, but neither are all night. Factory strikes me as your best bet if you're a TDCC fan, the middle floor plays indie songs, one or two nob heads in there and it's not all night, but drinks are cheap and the songs really aren't bad most of the time. Trains start running again as early as 4 o'clock, so depending on where you're going back to, you could just find a club that kicks out at 3 and then you've got an hour to get yourself a takeaway and stumble to the train station.

Satans hollow and Rockbox would be fairly good shouts, incidentally 2 door cinema club are doing a dj set at the deaf institute. But only till 3. Pretty certain rockbox is still open till 6!

@rufus thanks for the offer but were going for the hotel option in yhe end.

So any advice on some good busy places to go to after the gig. We woul like to avoid the likes of yates/deansgate locks etc etc.l
